New owner of Reagan Regiment

Mary is new primary owner of Reagan Regiment!

After discussing this with the founder Ann about asking Mary of Shanadoah gifts to be owner of the Reagan Regiment, and Ann thought it was a good idea,

I then sent a private e-mail to Mary asking her if she would like to become the primary active owner of Reagan Regiment. her answer was "Yes".

I will still be co-owner.
I encourage everyone to show Mary Shenandoah

the same respect that was usually shown to Ann and I.

Mary has already indicated to me that she plans on putting some effort in making Reagan Regiment grow.
In my opinion, that is a very good thing for the group and for the members. It means with more members in the future their will possibly be more posts and input about Conservative concerns that are happening both locally and nationally.

So Mary is now the primary owner

of the Conservative group,

Reagan Regiment.

Resurrection Sunday Message

Resurrection Sunday Message

Though I am writing this for resurrection Sunday, it is a good message of hope for all at any and every time of the year.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25

Martha in that discussion said of her dead brother Lazarus; "Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days."

Martha thought Jesus was talking of someday but Jesus was a God of the now and still is the God of the now to meet our needs. Graves were often in caves, natural or carved out and blocked with a large stone, a boulder. So when Jesus told them to remove the stone she protested that by now Lazarus would smell bad . "He stinketh" the King James says.

A spiritual application would be that there are churches with false doctrine and just as dangerous compromising Pastors with compromising members and God would say fo those churches that they "stinketh"!

That is another whole message so let us get back to the literal meaning of this Bible incident.

Once they removed the stone Jesus prayed out loud to His Heavenly Father so that there would be no doubt as to why Lazarus came alive. Then Jesus just said 3 simple powerful words; "Lazarus, Come forth". Poor Lazarus bound up like an Egyptian mummy. He must have been hopping awkwardly, while struggling to breathe through his grave clothes in order to try to obey Jesus after death lost it's grip on his body.

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. John 11:44

Sometimes when God does a miracle He often leaves a part for us to do.

Jesus did many healings, miracles including raising the dead back to life. The greatest miracle is Jesus Christ's resurrection. Jesus was beaten for our healing (Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:24), suffered judgment oif God in our place dying for our sins and on the third day arose from the dead. This resurrection is proof that Jesus is God in the flesh (John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16)

As proof that He was the son of God, Jesus allowed others to worship Him. Often when they were healed or set free from demons, the person set free would worship Jesus. The final proof of Jesus being God was when he arose from the grave after 3 days.

As if that was not enough the resurrected Jesus Christ in the immediate days following the resurrection allowed others to worship Him. One time that stands out is when Thomas doubted and when Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared To Thomas, knowing Thomas's previous words was told by Jesus to put his hands in Jesus side and to feel the holes from the nails of the Cross. At that point Thomas worshiped Jesus as God and said my Lord and my God.

Jesus accepted Thomas's worship as He, Jesus, accepts your worship and my worship today and on into eternity.

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20:29

So this blessed time of year or whenever you read this begin to believe in Jesus. If you already have a personal alive relationship with the living God, Jesus Christ, then pray to Him about the Holy Spirit increasing your faith so that you will believe even more!

Obama won. Now What?

The Bible instructs us to pray for our rulers and leaders. If you liked Obama, pray for his success and if you did not like Obama pray that God will change Obama's heart to do what is best for America! One thing more thing, if President-elect Obama, as any president, makes mistakes that are bad for us and bad for America then he should still be opposed. Pray for him while opposing when needed! Kind of like "love the sinner while hating the sin"!

Dog Sense & Obama

Have you ever heard that a dog "knows" when an earthquake is about to hit?
Have you ever heard that a dog can "sense" when a tornado is stirring up, even 20 miles away?
Do you remember hearing that before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia, dogs started running frantically away from the seashore, at breakneck speed?

Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and danger of fire?

Somehow they always know when they can 'go for a ride' before you even ask and how do those dogs and cats get home from hundreds of miles away?

I'm a firm believer that animals - and especially dogs - have keen insights into the Truth.

And you can't tell me that dogs can't sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance.

Simply said, a dog just KNOWS when something isn't right ... when impending doom is upon us .. they'll always try to warn us.... !!

Another Soldier's Prayer

From. within I felt the desire to pray, but the heat of battle turned
me away, even so 1 felt the Lord of heaven had His hand on me and was
calling me to a higher calling, one for now 1 did not understand_
The day did come when that war came to an end,
I returned home to a hero's welcome,
but my soul was not yet at peace.
I struggled long to cope with the carnage of that war and what it had
done to me, from alcohol and drugs 1 found no, relief.

This was a different war, this was a war for my soul, finally 1 gave
up and turned to the Lord of heaven once more and asked Him to come
into my life, this time i truly meant it.

Behold, true to His word Almighty God took me by the hand and lead me
to the alter of forgiveness, there I was cleansed of all the thoughts
and feelings that had been a barrier between Him and me.
I now stand in a pulpit among the sheep and the wolves proclaiming
the power of our Almighty God, the one who had turned a killing
machine into a saint.

One worthy of the love of God, one willing to stand in the gap and
proclaim the word of the Lord of the universe, my God and your God,
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. A-men

A Soldiers Prayer

Pastor/Evangelist Earl posted this "Soldiers Prayer"
in our OnLine Bible Church group.
I reposted it in a few other groups including the Vulcan Council.
In a week or within a few weeks I will repost a second "Soldiers Prayer".

A SOLDIERS PRAYER

O God forgive me the death that I deliver to my foes,
I pray that it were not so.
I prefer to have them as my friends,
but they refuse to come to the table of Love.

The days are dreary, the nights long as the hell of battle sounds all around and yet I find peace whenever I pray to Thee.
The flash of cannon, the crack of the rifle fill the air
and keep me from sleep, finally weary and tired I fall fast to sleep, resting in the comfort that You will see me through.
As the early morning light breaks the eastern sky I once again pray
to You that this day will bring peace and hope for tomorrow.

The stench of death fills the air, bombs bursting like firecrackers on the fourth of July, shrapnel piercing the bodies of my friends and yet death evades me.

Why am I spared the pain of death, the hole in my helmet is testimony that God has His hand on me and yet I know not why I am spared.
Perhaps it is proof that God has something else for me to do
when this war comes to an end,
if so I am ready to follow Him
wherever He will lead me.

As they say there are no atheists in foxholes,
I am beginning to believe that that is true,
for a friend of mine just before he died
asked I if I would say a prayer for him.
I held his hand as life drained from his body, just before he closed his eyes in death he looked at me and said,
"Do you see what I see?"
I turned to him and replied,
"No, tell me what you see."
With that he returned,
"I see the Lord of heaven holding out His hand to me. Him I cannot refuse. Bless you my friend for praying for me."
With that said my friend closed his eyes in death, to my amazement there was a smile on his face, never more will he feel the sting of death, for in the arms of the Lord of heaven he now rests.

We need to have a single eye especially focussed on God's Word and serving Jesus Christ..
If we are living God's Word, experiencing Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the way we should be then even in the difficult times there should be a joy way deep down in having this main focus of God's Word being our guideline with the Holy Spirit's help in our joyous serving of Jesus Christ, our God and Saviour!

Make me to understand ye way of thy precepts,
and I will meditate in thy wondrous works.
Psalm 119:27

Thine hands have made me and fashioned me:
give me understanding therefore,
that I may learn thy commandments.
Psalm 119:73

Jesus Answered these two verses,
He promised to send he Holy Spirit to help us, to comfort us, and to teach us of all things.
Jesus also promised to send the Holy Spirit to bring back to our remembrance all things which he said.
This is why it is important to study and read the Word so that the Holy Spirit can bring God's Word back to your remembrance
If you can't read very well then listen to the Word of God.

In conclusion here is how far we are in this very Biblical poem.

"Here is the spring where waters flow,
to quench our heat of sin:
Here is the tree where truth doth grow,
to lead our lives there in:
Here is the judge hat stints the strife,
when men's devices fail:
Here s the bread that feeds the life;
that death cannot assail.
The tidings of salvation dear,
comes to our ears from hence;
The fortress of our faith is here,
and shield of our defense,
Then be not like the hog that hath
a pearl at his desire,
And takes more pleasure in the trough

9-11; Meet me At The Stairwell

PLEASE READ TO THE VERY END, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Now onto Part 4 of this series of Bible lessons:

The tidings of salvation dear,
comes to our ears from hence;
(Luke 2:10)

The fortress of our faith is here,
and shield of our defense,
(Eph. 6:16)

Then the Angel said unto them,
Be not afraid; for behold,
I bring you glad tidings of great joy,
that shall be to all the people,
Luke 2:10

Above all, take the shield of faith,
wherewith ye may quench all the fiery darts of the wicked
Ephesians 6:16

These tidings of great joy is that the Messiah, the Saviour of the
world was going to be born for the salvation of all who believe upon Him.
He was born and His Name is Jesus Christ.
Then he died for our sins and rose from he grave that we can all be
born-again through faith in Him, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the foundation of our faith.
He is our shield and defense along with the Word of God.

Then be not like the hog that hath
a pearl at his desire,
(Matt. 7:6)

And takes more pleasure in the trough
and wallowing in the mire.
(2 Peter 2:22)

Give ye not that which is holy to dogs,
neither cast ye your pearls before swine,
lest they tread them under their feet,
and turning again, all to rent you.
Matthew 7:6

But it is come unto them,
according to the true proverb,
The dog is returned to his own vomit,
and the sow that was washed,
to the wallowing in the mire.
2 Peter 2:22

These are strong words for people who reject the Word of God so I will
not comment on them.
I will just let the words of Peter and Matthew from God's Word speak
for themselves.

We are now more then half way done.

William Tyndale while attempting to translate the Bible to English fled to Germany meeting Martin Luther and then to Belgium.
Tyndale published the first mechanically printed New Testament in English in 1526.
6000 first-edition copies were smuggled into England and lit a Holy fire that could not be put out by man, not even by Kings and Queens!
For this William Tyndale was eventually caught, strangled and burned at the stake.

Many Pastors and Bible scholars and Theologians fled England due to Queen Mary's persecution of protestants.
They found safety and religious freedom in Geneva.
Those who helped translate and/or oversee the Geneva Bible translation,
the first complete English translation in history were Miles Coverdale (of the Coverdale Bible), John Knox, John Calvin etc.
Besides using the latest Hebrew and Greek manuscripts of thier day, they also referred to other translations in their studies, like Martin Luther's German translation and most likely Tyndale's New Testament in English among others.

The Geneva Bible was the first ENGLISH translation to be fully translated
from the ORIGINAL BIBLE LANGUAGES (Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic).

"Here is the judge that stints the strife,
when men's devices fail:"
(Rev. 2:7 and 22:2; Ps. 119:160)

"Here s the bread that feeds the life;
that death cannot assail."
(John 6:35)

Let him that hath an ear, hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.
To him that overcometh, will I give to eat of the tree of life
which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.
Revelation 2:7

There are many different aspects of the 7 churches in Revelation chapters 2 & 3.
Mainly 3 aspects involved in understanding
and applying these 2 chapters.

1. They were 7 literal churches, highlighting strengths and weaknesses.
Strengths all churches need to strive for and weaknesses all churches need to beware of as warnings to avoid.

2. Many also believe that they were 7 church ages.
The first church age being the days of the Apostles and the last (Laodicea) being a church world that is lukewarm;
shortly before Jesus takes us Christians away in the "Rapture", the "catching away".

3. To apply all warnings, compliments and promises of blessings as guidelines, discipline and/or promises for each of us depending which category we fall into.
Read Revelation chapter 2 & 3.
Then pray and find out which category you fall into.
Even if we think we are OK, we should always be striving to become more of an overcomer in Christ, with the help of he Holy Spirit.

In the midst of the street of it, and of either side of the river, was the tree of life,
which bare twelve manner of fruits, and gave fruit every month;
and the leaves of the tree served to heal the nations with.
Revelation 22:2

Healing and eternal life are through Jesus Christ.
Adam & Eve chose the forbidden tree of Knowledge of good and evil in disobedience to God when they could have partaken of the tree of life which is now found in the New Heaven which is the New Jerusalem.
In John 14:6 Jesus told us that He, Himself,
"is the Way, the truth, and the LIFE".
The TREE OF LIFE is Jesus Christ.
Whether literal or symbolic, I am not sure but I do know that the Tree of Life on the garden of Eden and here in this verse is Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, the provider of Eternal Life!

The beginning of thy word is truth,
and all the judgments of thy righteousness endure forever.
Psalm 119:160

The scripture tells us that Jesus is TRUTH IN John 14:6.
In fact Jesus said that of Himself.
John chapter 1 we are told that "the Word is God" and that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (in the form of Jesus Christ).
So Jesus is God's Word and Truth.
No wonder Jesus judgments are righteousness which lasts forever!

And Jesus said unto them, I am that bread of life;
he that cometh to me, shall not hunger,
and he that believeth in me,

John 6:35

The line from the poem that goes with this Bible verse says that "death cannot assail" the bread that feeds life.
Jesus in John 6:35 tells us that He is the Bread of Life and we already saw how Jesus is Life, Eternal Life for believers.
It seems looking up the Scripture references of this poem that we are seeing how God's Word (the Holy Bible) over and over again confirms Jesus as Truth and Life.
In john 14:6 He, Jesus, told us that to come to the Father we had to go through Him, Jesus.
Other scriptures tell us that while we were yet sinners (yes, me too) that Jesus died for our sins.
Jesus knew we were going to sin and we had to be punished for our sins so Jesus agreed with His, Our Heavenly Father to die for our sins, to suffer judgment and punishment that should have been ours.

From The Gospel of Jesus Christ according to the Apostle John,
in John chapter 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world, ]
that he should condemn the world,
but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth in him, is not condemned;
but he that believeth not, is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the Name of that only begotten Son of God.
John3:16-18

By now we should be finding this poem from The 1599 Geneva Bible more and more inspirational because we see how it is based on beautiful truths from God's Word.
Read it out-loud this portion of the poem, meditate on it
and upon what we have studied this week.

"Here is the spring where waters flow,
to quench our heat of sin:
Here is the tree where truth doth grow,
to lead our lives there in:
Here is the judge hat stints the strife,
when men's devices fail:
Here s the bread that feeds the life;
that death cannot assail."

Note before we start the regular lesson:
On Bible Notations & abbreviations:

If I give a reference with a name like John 10:10
that is the same as Saint John,
the same as the Gospel of John and the same as the Gospel of Saint John, the same as the Gospel of the Apostle John.
Different publishers label the Gospels slightly different
but the 4 Gospels are still basically Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Just some publishers include the words "Gospel of" while others also include titles added to the gospel writers names.
To be technical all 4 of the Gospels are actually Gospels of Jesus Christ as recorded and written by each of the 4 Gospel writers.
Gospel means "Good News "
so since the Gospels are the Good News about Jesus Christ
then as I said all 4 Gospels are Gospels of Jesus Christ
written by each of the 4 Gospel writers.
If I remember correctly once in a while I will see a publisher title the Gospels as "the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to...."
and then the name of one of the Gospel writers
(Matthew, Mark, Luke & John)
That is the most correct.

However, how the publisher titles the 4 Gospels rarely has any bearing
on the accuracy or validity of the particular translation they are publishing.

John 10:10 would mean John chapter 10 verse 10.
As we discussed this could also be
St. John chapter 10, verse 10,
The Gospel according to John Chapter 10 verse 10 etc.
The Gospel according to St. John Chapter 10 verse 10 and so on.

Also a number in front of a name means the first or second or third epistle of.
For example:
1 Peter 2:1 means
the First Epistle of Peter chapter 2 verse 1.
2 Cor.3:4 means
the Second Epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 3 verse 4.

The same notations apply to the Old Testament, also.

If this is rudimentary to many of you please forgive me.
But it dawned on me that not everyone is at the same level
and that the above information of how to understand
abbreviated scripture references might be helpful to new seekers.

OK on to our devotional study,
starting with the next verse of our Geneva Bible Poem
"Of the incompatible treasure of the holy scriptures,
with a prayer for the true use of the same."
from the 1599 Geneva Bible and the scripture references:

(Jer 33:15 and Ps 119:160)

I included the prayer in the first lesson but will not include it in every single lesson because I do not want it to become mundane from us reading it too many times.
It is in my introduction so you can look there for it.

Now for the full text of those Bible verses:

In those days and at that time,
will I cause the branch of righteousness to grow up unto David,
and he shall execute judgment,
and righteousness in the land.

The beginning of thy word is truth,

My comments:

The reference to a tree growing reminds me of Psalm 1.

Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man that doeth not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in ye seat of the scornful:
2 But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, and in his Law doeth he meditate day and night.
3 For he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters, that will bring forth her fruit in due season:
whose leaf shall not fade: so whatsoever he shall do, shall prosper.
4 The wicked are not so, but as the chaff, which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, and the way of the wicked shall perish.

Notice:
that if you avoid the advice (counsel) of the wicked and do not even take time to sit and hear their ideas
but instead you delight on God's Word (His Law, including he New Testament laws of the Holy Spirit) written on our hearts;
then you will grow like a tree planted by rivers.
In dry spells a tree by the river does better and lasts longer then all the other trees
because it is closest to its source of life.
It is the same with us when we read study and deligh in God's Word,the Holy Bible.
Also, Jesus is this source for He said "of anyone thirst let him(or her) come to me (Jesus).
In so many words Jesus also told he woman at tghe well this also.
In fact He told her that He had water that would cause her to never thirst again. (John Chapter 4)

God's Word (the Holy Bible) is true.
Other scriptures tells us that Heaven and Earth will pass away but God's Word endureth forever.

Jeremiah 33:15 is speaking about the "branch of righteousnsess" as a person, descended from David,
a person who judges fairly and will bring righteousness to the land.
This is a prophesy of Jesus Christ as the Messiah.
This prophesy applies both to Jesus first coming as a humble servant
and of His Sec0nd Coming as KING OF GLORY to reign and rule over all!

In John Chapter One we are informed that the Word is one with God and is God.
Then we read a little further in this chapter and we are told that He, this Word manifested Himself in the flesh.
The Word in the flesh is Jesus.
Jesus was and is God's Word to us in action.

Truth is also mentioned.
Jesus said of Himself;
"I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.
No man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6

Jesus is the Word revealed in action, Jesus is Truth lived out in action, Jesus lived the Life we should live
and can have through faith in Him and in His Death, burial and ressurrection.

7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily I say unto you, I am the door of
the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me, are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not
hear them.
9 I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in, and
go out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come
that they might have life, and have it in abundance.
11 I am that good shepherd; that good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep.

Introduction
and First Devotional Thought
From The Geneva Bible.

Introduction:

Ann Matos (the founder/owner of this blog and the Vulcan Council) has asked me to do a a Sunday devotional or sermon.
I posted lesson 1 of this series in the Vulcan Council, 3 weeks ago.
This week I posted lesson 3 there. Here on this blog, I will post the lessons from the series every week or two.

I believe Ann asked me to do this because she, like myself. recognizes that faith was a strong principle of our founding Fathers.
In fact the first original form of government in America
was done by Christians with strong Convictions.
This people were the Pilgrims and there government was based on the Mayflower Compact which they wrote when they realized that they were not going to land in an established southern colony.
It is said that the Mayflower Compact is
the foundation of all Western Democracies.

"What does all of this have to do with a devotional?"; you may ask.
Please be patient with me and you will see in a few moments.

By way of introduction I am reviewing history of the Pilgrims
because they used the Geneva Bible
which was before the King James version.

The Geneva Bible was first published 1560 and every so often republished after that.
That is about 51 years before the King James Version.
I find the translation of the King James Version Bible
to be very similar to the Geneva Bible.
Probably their was some influence of the
Geneva Bible upon the King James.

Also, I think both translations used the same source manuscripts,
the Textus Receptus (meaning the Received Text, the accepted text).

I purchased a copy of the Geneva Bible from

That way it should be OK for me to quote a little each week from the republished Geneva Bible.

This copy, I acquired is from the 1599 Geneva Bible and has modern text to make it readable. In the old original manuscripts "S" looked like an "f", "U" looked like a "V" and some spellings were different like "old" is spelled "olde". Other then that and a few grammatical updates which is all explained in the Foreword and/or Preface; this newer printing is the same as the 1599 Geneva Bible.

This 1599 Geneva Bible has a poem about the importance of scripture and also a page that is a Bible Study page about spiritual profiting when reading the Holy Scriptures.
Both were in the original 1599 Geneva Bible which the Pilgrims used!

I think... what better way then to acknowledge our "Founding Fathers" then to Study the Bible from their (the Pilgrims) perspective?

Since I am very busy; I will start with only the first verse from the poem with the corresponding scripture references that were provided in this Geneva Bible, and also include the concluding prayer
Next week, depending on my busyness I may do more then one verse from the poem.
Each week I will include the verse of the past weeks so you can see the progression of the poem as we go.
Instead of just the references I will include the Bible verses so that they are there for you.

This page that the pilgrims wrote
and included in their Geneva Bible is titled:

This is the first verse, the corresponding scriptures provided and the concluding prayer at the end of the poem:

Here is the spring where waters flow,

(Isa 12:3 and 49:10; Rom 5:16 and 6:17)

Therefore with joy shall ye draw waters out of the well of salvation.
Isaiah 12:3

They shall not be hungry,
neither shall they be thirsty,
neither shall the heat smite them,

for he that hath compassion on them, shall lead them;
even to the springs of water shall he drive them.

Neither is the gift so,

My devotional comments on the above:

Water is the source of life.
A person and most animals can go without food much longer then we can go without water.
Jesus told the woman at the well that He had water which would make her never thirst again.
In another place in the Gospels Jesus proclaimed that all who thirst shoudl come to Him for springs of Living Water.
Jesus is the source of the water of the wells of Salvation.
Jesus is the source of Living Water to eternal life.
Ponce De Leon and others were looking for a spring that would give eternal youth in the New world.
When he and others should have been looking to the Word of God not for "eternal youth" but for "Eternal Life".

Also, Psalm 121, along with our reference from Isaiah, tells us that the Lord will not allow us to be smitten by the sun (by the heat from the sun).
There are many other verses that talk about the Lord being our Rock, our shade, our shield, our protection from harm.

In Hebrews Jesus promised to he disciples and to all who would believe in Him that He would "never leave nor forsake us".

The gift that those verses in Romans are talking about is that Jesus Christ died on the Cross and shed His Blood for our sin so that we could have His free gift of eternal life.

Then as final proof of His authority to cleanse us of our sin to cleanse us by His Blood, Jesus Christ rose from the grave on the third day. Jesus is now in Heaven making intercession for us (praying for us).

One more thing.
There is nothing I can add to the prayer
because it is definitely inspired
and still as beneficial to pray now
as it was over 400 years ago.

Save our Boy Scouts

Ann (the Vulcan Council and Vulcan Anvil founder)
and I had been discussing by private e-mail about the Boy Scouts.

I had some concerns because the last I knew SOME (not all) Boy Scout
troops and/or districts were giving in to Liberal causes like having
homosexual Scout leaders.

Now I think that is probably a minority giving in to pressure and that
many more troops and districts lost some funding rather then
compromise their original vision and the safety of their boys
Homosexual Scout leaders would endanger the boys, as far as possible
sexual molestation.

Oprah, Al Gore and What about Global Warming?

Oprah, Al Gore and
What about Global Warming?

A friend asked me about Al Gore and Global Warming in the context
that Gore appeared on the Oprah show about this
issue (if you want to call it that)!

Here is my answer:

Oprah and Al Gore.....
that is like the devil's publicity dream team.

Even if they are wrong; between the 2 of them many millions would believe anything they say and they are BOTH anti-christian.
They probably even have the same spirit of anti-christ.
Not THE ANTI-CHRIST but the spirit of anti-christ.
The devil loves it when his powerful false prophets team up.

That said pictures of melting glaciers are a powerful argument
because as the saying goes a picture is worth a thousand words.
Then again if those pictures are the exception not the actual over-all reality
then they are lying about what they (Gore, Oprah and environmental extremists) are saying.

In fact I heard one scientist explain that if we actually had global warming because of what it would eventually do to our atmosphere (blocking more of the sun's rays) global warming would actually eventually cause an ice age.
The opposite of what Gore and his cronys are saying.

It sounds to me like God created the earth, our atmosphere and the sun in such a unison that the earth and atmosphere following God's laws of science everything eventually balances out.

Remember Noah's flood.
The atmosphere changed as a result of that deluge of rain.
Seasons suddenly came into being.
Yet Man and the animals managed
(from 8 people, 2 each of unclean animals, 7 each from clean animals)
to make a come back from 8 people to over 6 billion people., almost 7 billion.

Actually Al Gore has no problem with killing the weak, the defenseless,
such as babies (unborn babies), the elderly and the handicap.

I know this for 2 reasons:

1. Al Gore is one of the leaders in the Democratic party.
To make it as far as he did, he would have to agree with the liberal
politics of death which the National Democratic party supports.

2. When Al Gore wrote his book years ago (this is an old issue he is revisiting)*
he basically said that the human race is a virus upon the earth and the earth can only handle one-half billion people.
That means in reality he sees no problem with over 6 billion people dying and/or being killed.
I would guess as long as that 6 billion does not include himself or his family and friends.
Another thing is Al Gore basically wants most of us to do away with cars and go back to horse and buggy days.
Of course, he has figured out how many fume making, gas guzzling vehicles his mother earth can handle.
Would you like to guess who would have the privilege of driving a car while we have to walk miles to go everywhere?
On to of that these people who travel all over the USA and sometimes all over the country are using jets (often private jets) that create more pollution then many of the largest passenger motor vehicles.
If they (Al Gore included)are so concerned why are they jetting from one place to another?

Though we should be responsible citizens,
like not throwing trash out our car windows,
I do not believe in environmentalism to the point
of hurting our economy.
I do not believe in environmentalism to the point
of destroying the lifestyle of the free world.

Also, most of the worst polluters are not the USA or our strongest allies but are communist countries like China and the poverty stricken third world countries. I say go after the true culprits before bothering to change the USA lifestyle but for liberals that would not be politically correct!
In fact Communism and dictatorships have always been about power and Gorbachev, the strong Communist he is..... has joined world peace movements and world environmental groups.
Why?
Because if The USA is restricted in it's manufacturing, it's transportation and as a result have a very restricted controlled (limited) economy then Gorbachev has succeeded in defeating American Capitalism.
If both the peace extremists and the environmentalists extremists succeed
then Communist Gorbachev as part of that movement also has succeeded in controlling the world through these groups.
It is about power... not really about peace and not really about the environment.

I guess Al Gore wants to see the same thing because
that is how he is acting and speaking on issues like this.
Al Gore is just trying to recreate himself politically and financially
using the same old tired issues of his book from at least a few years back.

Remember what I said in the beginning of this e-mail:
Oprah and Al Gore.....
that is like the devil's publicity dream team.
The devil loves it when his powerful false prophets team up.

Like I said before even if global warming is true, according to expert scientists the earth would warm up and then cooled down to an ice age or a mini-ice age so nothing to worry about,
Whenever Jesus comes back for us Christians in His "Catching Away" of us saints ;
whether it is before or after possible climate changes;
I am sure modern man will adapt as far as global warming and/or another ice age.

According to historians and archaeologists ancient primitive man survived the last ice age...
if it happens how much more qualified for modern man to survive it if it is true?

One final thought:
Ultimately Jesus is going to destroy this old world in a much worse way
then global warming or an ice age and then create a brand new perfect Heaven and Earth.
So for us Christians, the most important thing is to be ready for Christ coming for us.
Of course pollution, ice age, global warming, wars, new diseases and the consequences of them are tools we can use to present the Gospel to the lost.
AS you already know, truly this is the day,
now is the time that the sinners need to turn to Jesus.

Hamas Has Changed the Middle-East Paradigm

You will not hear this publicly but the Hamas victory in Gaza will transform American strategy in the Middle East. Why? The Hamas bloody and barbaric victory was at the hands of Shi'ite Iran's training and weapons supply. Hamas also has received huge cash support from Saudi Arabia.

So here is the scenario for Israel: a well trained Hamas in Gaza; an antiquated yet a schmoozer for arms from the West for the PLO (Fatah dominated) in the West Bank East of Israel; a military mobilizing Syria (and client of Iran) North and East of Israel; and Hezbollah (client of Syria and Iran) North of Israel.

The picture is one of hostility completely surrounding Israel. This is an Israel that had its image seriously chipped by Hezbollah in fighting in Lebanon.

Then there is America. Publicly America is Israel's number one protector and ally. Leftist politicians are displaying America's vulnerable guts to radical Islamists demonstrating the powerful American military does not have the political backing of its people to fight a prolonged war to a victory. For the Islamists this is a stark picture of insufferable weakness.

Now that I painted this word picture for you consider this. At Haditha in Iraq American soldiers have been accused of massacring 24 Iraqis in revenge for protecting insurgents that murdered a buddy of the soldiers. This story garnered global hysteria over alleged brutality by the American military. Here we are nearly a year later and the Mainstream Media has nearly abandoned the story. Why? As more and more information is developing it is appearing that the dead were staged by Sunni insurgents to make Americans look bad. The implication is the so-called civilians were indeed aiding the insurgents who used Haditha citizens that supported the insurgents as human shields as the insurgents made their escape.

Did people die by American hands? Probably; however the deaths were the result of indigenous support for insurgents who used them as human shields.

Were we not speaking of Hamas and Israel? Here is the thing. The swift Hamas victory was not performed in an ethical way. If Americans or Israelis won a victory in the same way that Hamas had done, there would be Leftist and Arab sympathizers calling for War Crimes Justice. Hamas entered hospitals firing weapons. Hamas drug Fatah supporters and police into the streets and executed them (often in a brutish desecrating manner). Hamas would throw Fatah people off of buildings to their death.

Where was the Mainstream Media and Leftist cry of the abuse of Geneva Conventions. POW's were executed not rounded up and interned. The thing that makes this even more horrendous is that the devilish barbarism was executed on fellow Palestinian-Arabs. We hear of Gitmo inmates interned as enemy combatants and possibly the receivers of torture. We hear that these terrorists have had their Geneva Conventions violated (doubtful since they do not represent a nation that signed the Accords) and so on.

BUT Hamas in full view of cameras barbarically murdered their perceived enemy combatants in the streets, in the hospitals, in their homes and more. WHERE IS THE GLOBAL OUTRAGE!

Immigration Amnesty, Immigration Reform?

We do not need to grant amnesty to thousands of law-breakers (illegal immigrants).
Even if they were given amnesty for that one crime of being here illegally, who is to say these illegal immigrants will not break other laws since they did not respect the laws of the USA in the first place?

Immigration Reform is definitely needed. I think the reform we need; is for our government (USA) to crack down on illegal immigrants and send them back to whatever country they came from. Also as part of that reform the Minute Men should be encouraged.
All police and enforcement agencies on our border should be given more authority including local town police, County police, and State police. Instead of using government funds for some illegals to collect welfare benefits, they should be refused and reported to authorities.
The extra money that is saved could be used towards enforcement of border and immigration laws. Also more money needs to be used on immigration officers to enforce border laws.

I AM NOT AGAINST ALL IMMIGRANTS.
LEGAL immigrants are fine.
My Italian great-grandparents on my Dad's side of our family came over here LEGALLY!
I am thankful for that.
I am thankful that all of our family were and are legal citizens of the USA!

One more thing.
As part of Immigration Reform illegals should
NOT be allowed to sue arresting enforcers of our American laws.

Iraqi sculpturer honors American troops

An Iraqi sculpturer (previously forced to create Saddam Hussein statues)
made this statue on thankfulness to honor our troops.
It was made from so many heads (5, I think) from statues of Saddam Hussein melted down.

It shows a little Iraqi girl comforting one of our American soldiers
grieving for a fallen comrade in arms.

Gratefulness of the average Iraqi people like this does not make the news.

First off to the politically correct I would like to say
Merry CHRISTmas
and Happy Holy Days!

Yes I said "Merry CHRISTmas".
Why?
Some may ask what about those who are not Christians?
If there was no "Christian" holiday, no Christmas on December 25th then from Thanksgiving through the first week of January (returns and reshopping) would not be such a money making season for the merchants and businesses.
So let us be honest that they are making money because of Jesus CHRIST's celebrated birth whether they believe in Him or not.
Ironic isn't it?

Some might ask why did I say Happy Holy Days and not Happy Holidays?

Well.....
I did that to make the point that even thoose who try to take Jesus Christ out of the season by saying Happy Holidays are actually saying Happy Holy Day because "holiday" is a shortened version of "Holy Day"!
And what day is specifically Holy this time of year that most people celebrate either for it's true meaning or in a secularized fashion?
Why CHRISTmas of course!

So MERRY CHRISTMAS
and maybe I should also say
"Blessed Holy Christmas Day"
to you all.

Kerry Sticks Foot in Mouth....Big Time!

He did it big time this time.

I guess it was a few days ago that John Kerry implied that if you were in the military serving in Iraq, you were less then educated.

'Speaking to an audience in California on Monday, Kerry said: "Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."'

My opinion:
Of course Kerry should never had said that in the first place.
If it was a botched joke in his attempt to make President Bush look bad in regards to the Iraq war he only succeeded in insulting those serving and sacrificing in the military.
Even his friend, radio personality Don Imus, who usually glories in being shocking has begged Kerry publicly to "stop it .... and go home".
Not a great endorsement!

The Pope Takes a Stand Against Jihad

obvious, seeking to emulate the "sensitivity" of Senator John Kerryâs
foreign policy: while these people are killing us, we mustnât annoy them.

A New York Times article dated September 13, 2006, is an example of
liberals being more concerned about hurting Muslimsâ feelings than
about addressing what is obvious to anyone with the common sense God
gave a billy-goat.

Times reporter Ian Fisher writes: â[the Popeâs speech] distilled many
of Benedictâs longstanding concerns, about the crisis of faith among
Christians and about Islam and its relationship to violence.
"And he used language open to interpretations that could inflame
Muslims, at a time of high tension among religions and three months
before he makes a trip to Turkey.â"

To most observers not blinded by liberalism it is bloodily apparent
that Muslims have been inflamed and bent upon conquering or destroying
the non-Muslim world for more than a decade. No official in this
country uttered anything "inflammatory" to trigger the events of 9/11.
For followers of the Koran, it is sufficient provocation that the
United States exists as a non-Muslim nation.

Oklahoma Bombing & Radical Muslims

Back when the Oklahoma bombing happened our liberl media jumped all over false stereotypes of Fundamental Christians and Patriotic Conservatives.

For Example:
Time magazine as part of their full coverage on the Oklahoma bombing had a small article saying if a person
1.believes in the literal Second Coming of Jesus Christ,
2. prefers home-schooling,
3. believes that the Bible teaches about a literal anti-christ,
4. belongs to a militia
or any of these is therefore as dangerous as those Oklahoma bombers.
The Oklahoma bombing was terrible and I do not know of any Christians who supported it

I do not belong to a militia, I do not own guns but it IS a citizens rights to own guns and to bear arms! Also, everything else Time magazine criticized is freedom of religion and freedom of choice in our children's education. Basically they were stereotyping Conservative Fundamental Bible believing Christians as being dangerous. This was not just with Time magazine. This kind of yellow journalism was the attitude of much of the media.

Yet, now we forward to after 9-11-01 and though all the terrrorists were Muslims, though their are Islam religious leaders calling for the destruction of Israel, America, all Jews and all Christians our politically correct media say that Muslims are peacable and we should not stereotype Muslims as a violent and dangerous group.

Back after the Oklahoma bombing the media was willing to falsely stereotype against peacful law-abiding patriotic Americ citizens who were Christians but a religion like Islam that teaches violence and the only religion I know of that uses their children (young adulsts) to kill innocents through suicide bombing and yet the same media tells us the lie that Islam is a peaceful religion and that we should not stereotype or profile Muslims.
If non-Islamic religions were the majority of the suicide bombers then that would be true.
If there were no statements of violence in the Koran that would be true.
If there were no statements of violoence against Christians and Jews in the Koran that would be true.
But the truth is that the Koran is filled with violent statements against Jews and Christians.
The media falsely stereotypes Christian Conservatives very often yet the media lies about Islam and Muslims not being dangerous. Based on the Koran and on the actions of many Muslims especially their clergy's call for violence and suicide bombers, many Muslims are dangerous to non-Muslims!

The Oklahoma bombing was terrible and I do not know of any Christians who supported it, yet their are many Muslims that rejoice in every act of terrorism incuding of the cowardly acts of those Muslims who attacked America on 9-11-2001.

If our enemies are only within or mainly within one certain group then maybe we should profile them for the safety of airline passengers, for the safety of America and for the safety of the free world!

The true Bible-Beleveiing born-again Christian would not be politically correct.

The politically correct accept all kinds of abominations and sins as rights.
They accept murder of unborn children and call it choice.
They accept murder of the weak, sick, handicapped and elderly and call it "mercy killing".
They accept all kind of sexual abominations, like cross-dressing bi-sexuality, homosexuality, Lesbianism, and probably even bestiality and call it an "alternative life-style".
They encourage fornication and call it trying out a relationship amongst other labels.
They reject the teachings of the Bible and call their apostasy open-mindedness.

Many of them have lost all common sense.
They will give a dangerous violent religion like Islam more rights then us Christians if they had their way.
They give illegal immigrantss, law-breakers, criminals and murdeers more rights then the righteous law-abiding citizens.

Pray for President Bush

President Bush needs prayer for wisdom.

The US borders are not secure.
The civilian organization "The Minutemen" should be supported and encouraged by our government not criticized!

Though there is progress in Iraq there are still terrorists (probably many imported from Iran & Syria) murdering and hindering the progress there.

Iran, a terrorist country is developing a nuclear missile program.

Hamas a terrorist organization and leader of the so-called Palestinian territories has kidnapped an Israeli soldier and Israel's military response is their right but bound to be unpopular with much of the leftist world and our own politically correct American(?) Liberals.

And on top of all of that North Korea tested and launched long range missiles last week that easily can reach Japan but also have the capability of reaching the US.
Yes, I realize the missile that was the longest range blew-up a few seconds after take off but it is just a matter of time if they are not stopped.

All of the above are why we should be
praying for President Bush for wisdom.

Note: This is my personal view-point.

On 6-6-06 and "The Omen" Remake

Though I personally believe Jesus is coming back again,
Jesus did say "No man knows the day or hour" when He (Jesus) will return.
So today will probably be just another day.
That is unless the wackos decide to act up just because of the date.

Other then that, the worst thing that will happen is the release of the remake "The Omen".
By the way, if it is anything like the original and even by the commercials I would say except for using the word "the anti-Christ" most of it is unbiblical.
You are better off reading the book of Revelation in the Bible.
The next best thing would be listening to a Bible audio tape of the book of Revelation or thirdly go to a Christian book store and ask about movies about the book of Revelation.
To do all 3 would not be bad either.

I know this post is not real creative but I hope it helps some think through about issues I mentioned.

Special Forces at the time, being a trading outfit, Wild Wes traded 2 - 8 oz. 2 quart Desert Canteens for the printing. The 250 copies were put on a Class table at 1st PSYWAR and were gone at the end of the day. One of the Instructors took it to the book
store to get more, (at the bottom of the proof is printed "Printed by 1st PSYWAR as training Material") and as you know they have been available ever since.

The news of the 2005 election is not so good for conservatives. I blame this on Bush's policies, which were mostly Democratic ... but didn't go far enough for them. So conservatives had no leadership to rally them. I understand Bush is trying hard ... but he is off target on so many issues that there is no true conservative leadership in the White House. Bush's policies are just all over the place. And some of his policies (like border control & the treatment of illegal immigrants) are downright dangerous. Look at the riots in France and Germany ... that could be us in ten years !!

That Democrats won Governorships doesn't surprise me. People are searching for strength. And in the second term of Bush ... which we all believed would show his strength in supporting the conservative causes, he's become namby pamby ... and even downright liberal in many policies. No wonder the common "under-informed" citizens voted Democratic.

For Republicans to WIN big in 2006, Bush has to give us good conservative policies. He has left his home base ... and the elections this year are the result. ~~ And by acting more liberal, he as given former President Clinton more clout. And Clinton went to bat for the Democratic governors. Folks like Clinton ... and can't like Bush for no one knows what he stands for anymore.

For folks old enough to remember, the fact that Democrats won on promises reminds me of that old TV commercial: "Promise her anything, but give her Arpege." The voters went for the promises. And considering that Bush left many important promises unfill ... like border protection ... what else can be expected.

I criticized President Bush for being absolutely too soft on the protection of our nation's borders. As a reply, I received the below comment:

My reply:

I cannot imagine a true conservative writing such a comment. My reply is below -- and it is replete with a number of good & solid conservative websites that any true conservative would enjoy:

Yes, shame on Bush. When a man is right, he is right. When he is wrong, he is wrong. He isn't the only one to blame. But he himself said "the buck stops here." So, let him do something. If he can't movtivate Congress behind the scenes in typical political fashion ... let him arrange for a news conference and call on the American people to barrage their congressmen with letters and phone calls. Is he afraid to take it to the people? The Democrat Harry Truman wasn't ... why can't the Republican George W. Bush do this ?

We are not kool-aid drinkers at the Vulcan Council. We do not sit cross-legged and chant ... "anything Bush does is right." We love AMERICA first ... and foremost. Leaving our borders wide open ... and calling the Patriot citizens who patrolled the borders "vigilantes" shows that Bush indeed shames himself by his actions. (See my earlier post at the Vulcan Anvil about Bush calling the Patriots "vigilanties" when he spoke with Presidente Vincente Fox. That is two-faced: he praises the Patriots home, here, in the USA, but condemns them as "vigilanties" when talking with the Mexican President.

Did you know that these so-called vigilanties actually cut the number of illegal aliens sneaking into the USA to about 800, where as the U.S. Border Patrol was content with 4,000 weekly sneaking in? The Patriots showed it could be done. And they didn't even carry guns. Why can't the National Guard be assigned to protect our pourous borders?

Also take a look at an earlier post at the ANVIL where actual pages are copied from the Mexican Government guide on "how to sneak across the borders into the U.S., illegally." There is actually an official governmental publication telling Mexicans all the do's and don't's about how to sneak into this country. If you stand for law ... legal procedures ... and the defense of our borders against swarms of illegal aliens ... and the defense of our borders against the entry of terrorists through our easily violated borders ... then you, too, will say "shame on Bush and shame on the Congress." So far, only the "first responders" -- the police, the firemen, and the EMS, are truly prepared for any eventuality. What in the world is happening to our National Security ??

The buck stops with Bush ... he has made no call to all the American people to bring pressure to bear upon our Congressmen to legislate and stop the infiltration of illegial aliens. And as Commander-In-Chief, he has done precious little in sending the National Guard (our homeland defense corps) to defend our borders. Shame on Bush.

And methinks that because you were a bad apple in the Council, and you were asked to leave for you did not live up to the standards of being a Vulcan, you are writing sour posts here at the ANVIL. Just because a person is registered as a Republican, that does not make him a conservative.

Bush has taken liberal positions time after time. And better minds than mine have complained against his liberal and "progressive" stances (think: "perscription drug plan" -- that disallows the growth of small companies in a market area that could use ingenious entrepeneurship). REAL conservatives criticize Bush often ... and if you are a real conservative ... study Human Events On line at www.humaneventsonline.com And the American Conservative Union at http://capwiz.com/acu/home/ and the American Conservative Union Foundation http://acuf.org/About/mission.asp -- all praised by the late President Ronald Reagan, and currently praised by William Buckley. Also go and spew your kool-aid inspired rhetoric at the Ronald Reagan Message board ... which stands for true conservatism in the tradition of Ronald Reagan. I dare you to say that to true conservatives on an open and public message board with a large number of excellent posters! It's easy to take a pot shot on a blog where there is limited oppportunity for response. Go and say that on a REAL CONSERVATIVE message board: www.ronaldreagan.com . Being conservative is NOT about backing one man, no matter what he does. It is about an overall philosophy. And if one man, even a President, truly abrogates that philosophy ... it is a serious mattler.

Shame on Bush for this matter. And as a matter of fact, Bush has enacted so many of the Democrats' pet projects ... what is the real difference between him and them, on the national scene? On the international scene, I stand with Bush and our troops. As to the Supreme Court ... I hopes he gets in the most conservative judges possibe. But Bush has outright pandered to the right. And many an intelligent conservative thinker has said so. Maybe that is why I have left the Republican Party ... and when I got married and moved ... I registered as a member of "The Conservative Party of New York State." Last 9/11 we had an extravaganza of photos of the images of this horrific day.

They have lost touch with what the people of the United States of America need to survive. Climate change?

Global warming or global cooling, it dosen't matter. It is a natural cycle, and I am not convinced there is a thing man can do about it either way. Sure, being environmentally responsible is the right thing to do, and alot of improvements made in vehicle emissions also improve efficiency (computer controlled engines) and in some cases durability.

I am for environmental responsibility, and there are things that can be done which will get us less dependent on foriegn sources of energy and create jobs in the process. Wind power is good as are the newly developed high efficiency solar panels. Pebble bed nuclear power plants are safe as well since they are pretty much impossible to melt down. Bio fuel prices are coming down as well. Bio diesel made from soybeans is sold in my town. Yes, it's 10 cents per gallon more than petroleum based diesel, but as more bio diesel manufacturing facilities are built that will come down and create jobs for people as well as help the American farmer. It also is less polluting and will make your engine last longer. Saab has just developed a car which makes more power from ethaol that gasoline, so with that technology you get less pollution and more jobs created to manufacture the fuel, in addition to helping farmers even more since ethanol is distilled from corn among other things.

We can be environmentally friendly and not have to change our lifestyles in the process, but the normal climate cycles are something we can't do much about.

Newsweek lies. People die.

So Newsweek just flushed its reputation down the drain. It was going for a "got cha !!" moment, just like Dan Rather and 60 Minutes aspired for not so very long ago. It all goes to prove that libbies can't learn from their mistakes. Especially not media mogul libbies hearquartered in Manhattan! Once again, a major media outlet has rushed to publish an unstubstantiated and uncorrobroated story. Why? It fulfilled their expectations. It sounded right. It portrayed "the meanies" (Bush, the US military, et al) exactly as the media believes them to be. What was not to believe?

Just a little matter called "the truth."

Lies kill, in the major media business. Seventeen people died in the Middle East because of those lies. Oh ... yeah, Newsweek says it can't be responsible for what people do after reading the stories they publish. Well, if that magazine abrogates responsibility, then it is indeed irresponsible. It should be known throughout the land that this magazine, Newsweek, refuses to take full responsibility for the effects of its shoddy and erroneous reporting.

And if Newsweek had no idea that riot could errupt in the wake of its article, then that magazine deserves none of the reputation it seeks to maintain as the foremost reporter of world events. As one of the best world news sources upon the face of this planet. If Newsweek is so provicial and circumscribed in its understanding of the interaction of the news and native populations, then it does not deserve the definition of being a global news magazine. It's just a little rag publishing out of Manhattan with no knowledge of the culture and practices outside of New York City's five boroughs.

Newsweek rushed to press with a story they had not confirmed, had not corrobroted, and had not evaluated in terms of consequences. Why? It thought it could piss upon the President, the State Department (headed by the first Vulcan, Secretary Condi Rice), and the Military, all in one hot stream! Well, Newsweek:

Seventeen dead. More injured. Hundreds of Amercians, civilians and troops, put in harm's way during the angry emotional outburst in response to Newsweek's story. Pakistan wants a direct apology from Newsweek! The Middle East is more alienated from the United States. And, perhaps not undeservedly, more distrustful of American media. The world is condemning the State Department and the Defense Department. The US Military is reviled. And Newsweek only retracts ... no apology, no amends. Heck, they won't even accept the letter of resignation by the reporter who worte the false story. Some responsible journalism going on, eh?

And other civilized nations are laughing, laughing at the superior intellect of Newsweek. Where is its genuis, its claim to reporting fame now? Its smug self-satisfaction is no replacement for honest hard work and reliable reporting.

Just where does the buck stop in your headquarters, Newsweek?

Stay tuned, folks, as the leftist libbie major media continues to implode. No, I'm not happy, for people died due to Newsweek's lies. And Amercians were endangered. And the United States' reputation was tarnished. All due to lies. But, I point out that the final consequences of Newsweek's lies will be to its own detriment. It is an unreliable rag. It is now on a par with the Enquirer -- or below, for even that tabloid requires at least two corrobrations for a story. Newsweek went solely on one source, with no confirmation. Resulting in death and danger to many people, and in disgrace for our country. All due to lies. Shame on Newsweek!

Mexico's Fox Apologizes for Black Comment

President Vicente Fox reversed course Monday night and apologized for saying that Mexicans in the United States do the work that blacks won't.

Fox repeatedly refused to back away from his Friday comment, saying his remark had been misinterpreted. But later, in telephone conversations with the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton the president said he "regretted" the statement.

As some of you know in addition to a full time job I got to school full time. As all of you should know the vast majority of college professors are liberals, including ones in the traditionaly conservative midwest, and Purdue is no exception. I decided to have a little fun with them.

I joined the vast right wing conspiracy, and in a few weeks I got a membership card, a wall certificate, and a t-shirt stating that I am a member of the vast right wing conspiracy. You can imagine some of the looks I got at school when I wore the shirt. I was surprised though that I did get alot of positive reactions, and caused some discussions, even with some of the faculty. I did irritate some people, and some said they would be too scared to wear that to class (some will not stand up for what they believe in since they are scared there will be consequences), but gauging the overall reaction I got, even down to an ultra liberal professor asking me to give reasons why I am conservative, and discussing our views in an adult manner, I believe there is hope on the nations campuses.

In the U.S. Mothers' Day is a holiday celebrated on second Sunday in May. It is a day when children honor their mothers with cards, gifts, and flowers. First observance in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1907, it is based on suggestions by Julia Ward Howe in 1872 and Anna Jarvis in 1907.

Although it wasn't celebrated in the U.S. until 1908, there were days honoring mothers even in the days of ancient Greece. In those days, however, it was Rhea, the Mother of the gods that was given honor.

Later, in the 1600's, in England there was an annual observance called "Mothering Sunday." It was celebrated during Lent, on the fourth Sunday. On Mothering Sunday, the servants, who generally lived with their employers, were encouraged to return home and honor their mothers. It was traditional for them to bring a special cake along to celebrate the occasion.

In the U.S., in 1908 Ana Jarvis, from Grafton, West Virginia, began a campaign to establish a national Mother's Day. Jarvis persuaded her mother's church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate Mother's Day on the anniversary of her mother's death. A memorial service was held there on May 10, 1908 and in Philadelphia the following year where Jarvis moved.

Jarvis and others began a letter-writing campaign to ministers, businessmen, and politicians in their quest to establish a national Mother's Day. They were successful. President Woodrow Wilson, in 1914, made the official announcement proclaiming Mother's Day a national observance that was to be held each year on the 2nd Sunday of May.

Many other countries of the world celebrate their own Mother's Day at different times throughout the year. Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May, as in the U.S.

Fox sugarcoats his countrymen's illegal invasion of the United States by deliberately mislabeling it a "migration" and wants us to reward lawbreakers with amnesty and dual citizenship. He refuses to call undocumented Mexicans "illegals," telling talk-show host Sean Hannity in March 2002: "They are not illegals. They are people that come there to work, to look for a better opportunity."

In December, the Mexican government printed and distributed 1.5 million copies of a comic style guide for illegally immigrating to the United States. "By reading this guide," says the introduction, "you can also find out about basic legal issues concerning your stay in the United States of America without the appropriate immigration documentation."
The guide provides advice for sneaking across the southern frontier of the United States. "Crossing the river can be very risky, especially if you cross alone and at night," it says. "Heavy clothing grows heavier when wet and this makes it difficult to swim or float. . . . If you get lost, use power lines, train tracks or dirt roads as guides."
The guide instructs illegal aliens how to react, and what to demand, if they encounter U.S. law enforcement. "Do not throw stones or objects at the official or at the car, as this is considered a provocation of the officials," it says. "Your rights are: . . . To have water and food whenever you need it. . . . Not to state your migratory status when detained."
Mexico even flagrantly advises its law-breaking nationals how best to avoid detection within the United States itself: "Avoid calling attention to yourself, at least while you arrange your stay or documents for living in the United States. . . .Avoid loud parties. . . . Avoid domestic violence. In the United States, as in Mexico, its is a crime."

The latest attempt by the Democrats to steal the 2004 election was soundly defeated in both Houses of Congress. In the Senate, the vote was 74 to 1 with only the originator, Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) left hanging in the breeze. Even the other Democrats abandoned ship. Kerry wrote a letter saying he believed the election results were fair and conclusive. And legal. Even Hillary jumped ship at the last minute, betraying her promise to Jesse Jackson that she'd support this.

In the House, only a small cadre of hard core demmies and black Congressmen voted to throw out the 2004 election by de-certifying the Ohio electoral vote. That drive was led by House D-OH Stephanie Tubbs Jones. But what does it mean when a state certifies the vote and Congress seeks to de-certify it? It's a clear indication that the RIGHTS OF THE STATE are being trampled upon. We already know the disdain the Democrats have for states' rights: the abortion legislation, the marriage laws -- especially the attempts to legislate gay marriage through out the land. And other motions that serve to dissolve the distinction and individual characteristics of each of the fifty states. The rights of states are such a nuisance for the Demmies!

This point is well made in an editorial by Frank Salvato in www.cnsnews.com//ViewCommentary.asp?Page=\\Commentary\\archive\\200501\\COM20050107c.html where he says:

Perhaps Boxer's and Jones' actions can best be described as an unethical, albeit constitutional, narcissistic desire for attention and political divisiveness. Their politically motivated actions were an abuse of the power vested in them by their constituents and a maneuver that comes very close to usurping the state rights of Ohio.

After all, they are Ohio's electoral votes to certify and with no legitimate legal proceedings outstanding, Boxer and Jones had no need to waste Congresses time or our tax dollars.

Without a doubt ... the Demmies would destroy democracy if let loose. These Dimmies are not interested in justice or ethics: They simply wanna smear Bush. Overturning a legal and correctly conducted election is no object for the Dummies. The end justifies the means for the Dimwits. The only fraud in this affair is their cry of bogus election results in Ohio. Neal Boortz says it all in his editorial today (submitted to the Council by Capt. Dave):

At the center of this supposed challenge was their claim that people in Ohio were "disenfranchised." That is, they weren't able to vote because of long lines, insufficient equipment, punch card ballots, and other such nonsense. These people believe that there is no way that Bush could have won the state by 118,000 votes, so there must be some explanation! Bear in mind that if the exact same set of circumstances had existed at the polling places, but the vote instead had gone to The Poodle, none of these people, that Pelosiland menace Barbara Boxer included, would be uttering one peep about insufficient equipment and long lines.

Protest the Death Sentence of Terri Schiavo!

There is a tragedy that is turning into a travesty: Terri Schiavo is set to be executed by the State of Florida. Her sentence was confirmed by that state's Supreme Court. And in this case, the Governor cannot stay the execution. No pardon. No clemency. What the most abject prisoner on death row can hope for, this mother and wife hasn't a prayer of a chance of receiving. Thanks to the courts.

Judges will excuse hardened serial murderers. The Gorernor of Illinois granted life to all death row inmates! But the judicial activists have ruled that Terri must die. She committed the unpardonable sin of becoming totally incapacitated. And because she cannot speak up for herself, she is set to be flushed away like an unwanted fetus.

That is our modern society: Cry for the poor criminal ... for his hard life. For the pain he has felt. But kill the unborn child. For that embryo is an encumbrance. And euthanize the enfeebled of mind and body. If they can't do for themselves ... why should any one have to do for them? Nothing to cry for there ... it's the poor suffering criminal ... the murderer whose crime was so henious that 12 citizens convicted him of first degree murder and then again agreed upon the penalty of death. Poor guy ... think of the horrors he went through standing trial! How demeaning! Let him live! The trial was punishment enough! It's the trash of society that we need do away with: the unborn and the incapacitated. Any one who can't fend for himself.

It is the unable that the libbies would kill, for they are bullies and could not face it if the weak were suddenly to rise up and accuse them. Well, libbies, j'accuse !

This article documents that Terri is far from a vegetable. She has awareness. She has cognizance. Florida's Governor, Jeb Bush, and the ACLJ are taking Terri's case to the United States Supreme Court. Pray ... pray that she receives justice. Healing, too.

It is worth noting that the one pushing for Terri's death is her husband. And it is interesting to remember that Terri collapsed from unexplained respiratory failure. She had mysterious marks about her neck. Terri's husband is a respiratory therapist. What would Sherlock Holmes think? Do you know that foul play was never investigated?

From the moment we entered the room, my impression was that Terri was very purposeful and interactive and she seemed very curious about the presence of obvious strangers in her room.
The thing that surprised me the most about Terri as I took my turn to greet her by the side of her chair was how beautiful she is. I would have expected to see someone with a sallow and gray complexion and a sick looking countenance. Instead, I saw a very pretty woman with a peaches and cream complexion and a lovely smile, which she even politely extended to me as I introduced myself to her. I was amazed that someone who had not been outside for so many years and who received such minimal health care could look so beautiful. She appeared to have an inner light radiating from her face. I was truly taken aback by her beauty, particularly under the adverse circumstances in which she has found herself for so many years.

We are proud that our President is leading the world in relief efforts, and that the American people are generously donating help. Vote For Bush Because ...

For Our Children's Sake

I spent this weekend doing "family" things. We celebrated my
daughter's 20th
birthday. We went to dinner with my parents. We
babysat our granddaughter.
We saw our granddaughter in her first ever
Halloween costume. As I basked in
the glow of contentment and love of
my family, I could not shake a nagging
thought in my head.

What kind of life will my children and my
grandchildren have if John
Kerry is elected President? Will they live in
daily fear, as the
Israelis do, of a homicide bomber striking at the mall or
the local
pizza parlor? Will they have the freedom to voice their opinions
without the fear of reprisal from the government? Will they be able
to
worship freely and express their love of God openly? Will they be
able to
include the words "under God" when saying the Pledge of
Allegiance in
public?

Will the female future generations be able to stay home with
their
children and raise them like I was raised? Or will they have to work
2 jobs just to pay their taxes? Will they be able to choose their own
physicians and be in control of their healthcare - or will they be
waiting in line for care as is the case at the government controlled
state health departments? Will the children learn the three R's in
school or will they be taught about diversity, sexual preference
equality and pornography posing as art? Will English still be taught
as
the primary language?

Will the history books accurately reflect the
events of the past 4
years? Or will it be edited for political correctness
so no group
will be offended? Will they be able to turn on their radios and
listen to "talk radio"? Will they have a choice of television news
shows
so they can switch the channel for one not biased against a
political party?
Will they be able to go to the library and check out
books from all types of
authors about various subjects? Or will they
only be able to choose what the
government deems appropriate?

Will they be able to take their children
hunting for the first time?
Will they be able to teach gun safety and the
responsibility of gun
ownership? Will they get to experience the wonder of
nature as it
awakens while sitting in a duck blind on the river? Will they
be able
to see the Braves, the Indians and the Chiefs play professional
sports or will the teams be renamed so they are not "offensive"?

Will they experience the thrill of standing in line on Election Day
and casting their vote for the candidate that they feel is worthy of
the
vote? Will they know that their country is the strongest and the
best in the
world or will they have to put the United Nations first?
Will they rest
securely at night knowing that our military is the
best equipped and best
trained in the entire world? Will they be able
to treat the American flag
with respect or will flag burning be a
national pastime?

Will the
future generations know of the incredible sacrifices that
our military men
and women made for our country? Or will they be
taught that our military
amounted to murderers, rapists and war
criminals? Will the constitutional
rights that our military fought
and died for still apply? Will they know
what it means to be an
American and be proud of our country?

On this
Sunday night before Election Day 2004, all of these thoughts
are weighing
heavily on me. As I read the updated polls and hear the
television pundits,
my heart is pounding. I wonder how other mothers
and fathers feel.

There is only one way to preserve our country and keep it safe for
future generations. There is only one way to ensure that our
children's'
children are able to grow up in a country that values
each and every life.
There is only one way to maintain that moral
compass that our founding
fathers wrote of. There is only one way to
ensure that our future
generations are free to speak, to worship and
to live. We must re-elect
President George W. Bush on November 2,
2004. For our sakes and for the sake
of future generations.

OK, let's say it's 1944 and Adolph Hitler and/or Japan's Tojo send a dire, threatening letter to all American newspapers -- and it gets published. What could have been the effect on the mindset of the average voter armed with such knowledge? We knew Hitler was within a gnat's eyelash of harnessing nuclear fission and the Japs were in cahoots. A plan was already developed to nuke San Fran Sissie. Japan vowed to fight to the bitter end, and an invasion of the Japanese homeland would have resulted in hundreds of thousands of additional casualties. We were in a committed war, and the American people knew what the consequences of defeat meant as well as any general did. Yes, we were winning the war and men continued to die despite our many victories. But, the average John and Jane Doe were behind President Roosevelt to prosecute our noble endeavor until victory was achieved on nameless islands in the Pacific, on the fields, beaches, and plains of countries people had only heard of. The American people would have scoffed at such a threat. People went to the polls in1944 and re-elected Franklin Roosevelt because he had perservered in wartime as has President Bush in the present struggle. And threats from our vicious enemy, written or spoken, would have only strengthened our resolve. The results: Roosevelt won 432 Electoral votes to Dewey's 99. And the popular vote? Roosevelt won 25,602,304 (53.5%) to Dewey's 22,006,285 (46.0%). Let us all hope and pray to our God that the same resolve is demonstrated by the majority of the American people of November 2nd, 2004. Let us all hope and pray to our God that the legacy of resolve passed on to us from Mom and Dad, Grandma andGrandpa ... "The Greatest Generation" ... is not forgotten with the passing of time. Guardian: Let's Assassinate President Bush-----
As most of you probably already know, the Guardian, the leading liberal
newspaper in England, today printed a call for the assassination of President
Bush. At the moment their site is inaccessible, presumably because so many
people are trying to access the column in question. We'll link to it later when
things settle down.
This is, of course, where the liberal campaign of hatred
and violence has been going for some time. I do think it is likely that someone
will get killed; I hope it isn't President Bush. One can only wonder: if such a
tragedy occurs, will the liberals come to their senses?

(I've always respected the flag of the Brits, so often our allies. Right now, I have mixed feelings when looking at it.) I can't access the Guardian's website either, at the time of my writing this post. This paper should be prosecuted here too. I thought calling for the death of a President was against the law!
The libbies are destroying our democratic process. And the libbies of other countries are trying to destroy the United States.

Is That a Cheat Sheet, Or Is Kerry Just Itchy?

Massaging his heart? Having a Napoleon Moment -- hand in vest? Or pulling out a crib sheet? I don't know about that rule ... no notes ... as public speakers do better with their index cards. But I do know that if Bush had to abide by that rule, and he did, then Kerry should have. Kerry is a good debater. So, why is he acting so shifty here? Inquiring minds wanna know. Is he violating a simple rule he agreed to? If so, what does that say about his character? That, for this viewer, is the salient question. What does this picture mean, he needs a bath? He has hives? Fleas? A scratchy undershirt?

What's the count of Kerry's lies now? Fourteen? Hey, the guy would make a great used car salesman!! For slick, he's the pick. I didn't even bother to catalog his lies, as it's being done all over the web. But I'm gonna gripe: He said that the New York City subways shut down during the Republican Convention. They most certainly did not!! Whadda liar. Youze can take my word for it, since I live in the City, or you can believe The New York Post article I've copied below. Either way ... it's more of his nonsense. And in particular, this makes me angry: how dare he malign MY HOME TOWN ?? Another lie of his was the assertion that Bush hasn't helped the cities stay safe from terrorist attacks. Click on the title of this post, and think again! That article directly contradicts his assertion, with facts and figures.

SUBWAY FLUB DERAILS CHALLENGER

October 1, 2004 -- Sen. John Kerry was on
a wrong track in last night's presidential debate as any New York straphanger
knows.
In an early exchange about homeland security, Kerry got it wrong when
he claimed President Bush's cuts in funding for infrastructure protection was
"why they had to close down the subway in New York when the Republican
Convention was there."
The only problem is that no subway service beneath
Madison Square Garden was suspended during the convention, even as buses were
diverted and gridlock ruled the streets.
"We did not stop any trains," said
Transit Authority spokesman Paul Fleuranges. "I will not guess or opine what he
was talking about."
Kerry's comment came in response to a question about
homeland-security spending. The Democratic challenger said, "The president
hasn't put one nickel, not one nickel into the effort to fix some of our tunnels

KerryGate: Only the RNC Plans Stolen

The party's headquarters are broken into. It's a clumsy job, too. The only thing taken are files about future campaign plans. For the last 72 hours before the election. Before the nation votes for its President. All else is left untouched.

Sound familiar? Watergate was once just such a small newspaper article, on a back page, all but ignored. Now it's a word in the dictionary.

In Seattle, at the RNC HQ, the only things stolen were three lap tops. All three were in the Executive Director's office. Two contained RNC plans for the "get out the vote" final 72 hours of the campaign.

Nothing else was taken. Nothing else was disturbed. Sound like a routine robbery to you?

If this had happened to a DNC Headquarters, it would be all over the national news wires. As it is, I find only two write ups of it so far. One in The Seattle Times (thanks to a DRUDGE link). And one from FOX News.

Let's remember ... the OMISSION OF TRUTH is also a lie. The fact that the major media outlets are shunning this story shows -- once again, that they are biased and lying.

SEATTLE — Three laptop computers containing campaign
plans were stolen overnight from the Bush-Cheney state headquarters office,
Republican officials said Friday.
Between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m., after the last
campaign worker had gone home from the office in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue,
someone threw a rock through the office window of Jon Seaton, executive director
for President Bush's state campaign, said Chris Vance, state GOP chairman.
Vance said two of the stolen laptops belonged to Seaton and Chris Taylor,
head of the office's get-out-the-vote campaign. A third had been slated for a
field office.
The computers contained much of the Bush-Cheney campaign
strategy for the state and advertising schedules, Vance said.
"This looks
like it was politically motivated," Vance said in an interview from the
Republican party offices in Tukwila.
Bellevue police confirmed the burglary
Friday afternoon but offered no support for Vance's claims about motive.
"No
evidence at the scene indicated this was politically motivated," police
spokeswoman Jessamyn Poling said.
State Democratic Party spokeswoman Kirstin
Brost said Democrats knew nothing about the break-in. "We think it's awful and
we definitely condemn the actions of those who stole these computers" she said.

Bush has gotta "Play ball !"

I live in NYC, so I'm really happy the Yankees just won the American League East. I expected it, but -- hey, they had injuries and lotsa bad games. So they hadda PLAY each game by the end of this season. Each base hit counted. The choice between swinging hard or bunting counted. Hitting the clubhouse wall in anger sure counted !!

Somebody please tell our dear President that's it's like baseball now ... and he's gotta PLAY to win. We all know he's got heart. He's got game. But he's gotta come out swinging. Gotta keep his eye on the ball. And gotta watch for every possible play he can make. Remember when Jeter leaped into the stands and got all bruised, but he made the play? Bush has gotta go that extra mile now. Bases are loaded. Score's nearly tied. Yeah, he's gotta play to win.

Not slump upon the podium. Not make faces. And please don't sigh, Mr. President !! Nor repeat again how hard it is. Just the facts ... lotsa them. Like fast ball pitches, find Kerry's weak point (and there are SO many) and throw against them. Hey ... we all know he's president and has to fit the debates in between his busy schedule. And all Kerry has gotta do is campaign ... he never went to his job in the Senate anyways.

But Bush will be outta a job if he doesn't prepare for every second of the "game" next debate. He has to prepare like an actor ... polishing every gesture, look and phrase. Cause that is what we've got in Kerry: An actor who could get behind the podium and make even "How now brown cow?" look presidential.

Bush is in a fight for his life ... and ours. He's gotta take this more seriously.

In 1960, those who watched Kennedy on TV said he won the debates. But those who listened over radio said Nixon won. STYLE won over SUBSTANCE. I'd like to think today's viewing public is more sophisticated ... but ... .

The campaign headquarters are broken into. Valuable strategy files are stolen. The break in has obvious amateur tell-tale qualities. Only the important files are taken ... not material for making a fast buck on the street. Only campaign strategy files are taken.

Sound familiar? Think it's an old newspaper, like 35 years old. Or a movie?

Nope. It's what happened in Seattle, Washington. ~~ Watch this story, folks. We just may have Kerry's Watergate. ~~ What, oh what shall we call it: KerryGate? SeattleGate? CouputerGate? BellevueGate (the neighborhood of the offices)??

Bush's state headquarters for re-election
burglarized

The Washington state headquarters for the president's
re-election campaign was broken into last night, and police are investigating
the theft of three computers from the Bellevue office.
Missing are laptop
computers used by the campaign's executive director, the head of the
get-out-the-vote effort and one that had been set for delivery to the campaign's
Southwest Washington field director, said Jon Seaton, executive director of the
state's George W. Bush campaign.
Seaton said data on the computers was
backed up and available elsewhere. But, he said, the loss creates a potential
security breach about the campaign's so-called 72-hour plan, the Bush
get-out-the-vote effort.
"Obviously there's some stuff there we wouldn't
want our opposition getting their hands on," Seaton said.
The campaign has
spoken about the importance of the 72-hour plan in swing states across the
country. Bush campaign officials say it could make the difference in a close
election if Republicans are able to make sure their voters get to a polling
place on election day and don't sit home as many did four years ago.
Seaton
was the first one in the office this morning. He did not notice the break-in
until he walked into his office and saw a rock and broken glass on the floor.
A side window of the office on 112-th Ave. N.E. had been smashed.
Seaton
said this morning that the campaign staff was still checking to see if anything
else had been stolen.
The break-in happened sometime between 2 a.m. and 8
a.m., said Bellevue Police Officer Jessamyn Poling, a department spokeswoman.
With burglaries in general, thieves can sometimes steal everything in a room or
they can take just one or two items, Poling said.
"It just has to do with if
they got spooked or if someone was driving by," Poling said.
She said police
had no other reports of commercial burglary last night, though she said break
ins are not uncommon in the downtown business area. The headquarters is a small
ground-level office in a non-descript business park in the 2100 block of 112th
Avenue Northeast. The only identification is a small, gold sign on an outer door
that reads, "Bush-Cheney" in plain letters.
A plain location helps the
campaign focus on its work without worrying about protesters or hecklers, said
Leah Yoon, a state campaign spokeswoman. Inside Seaton's office, which he shares
with another staffer, broken glass sat next to Toby Keith and rap CDs, a bag of
Doritos and water bottles. The wires from the stolen laptops still hung out the
large hole in the window.
State Republican Party Chairman Chris Vance called
it a "Watergate-style break in" and said he suspects Democrats are behind it.
"If you're just some burglar looking for computers to sell to buy drugs you
take every laptop in the office maybe," he said. "But they knew exactly whose
computers to get. They got the executive director's computer and the
get-out-the-vote director's computer."
State Democratic Party spokeswoman
Kirstin Brost said Democrats had nothing to do with the break-in.
"I feel
really bad. I know how upset I'd be if it happened to us," she said.
"There
was nothing for us to gain by stealing those computers," she said. "Their secret
plan isn't so secret."
Vance said the break in follows reports of vandalized
Bush campaign signs and what he said were telephone calls to voters alleging
Bush would reinstate a military draft if re-elected.
"To me there is some
scary stuff going on from liberal radicals whose Bush hatred is out of control,"
Vance said.

Watergate for Anne, Jill & the Rest of you Younguns'

At the Vulcan Council, a discussion of MemoGate and Rather and the DNC and Kerry (now and in 1971) inevitably led to a discussion of Watergate. However, none of us could accurately remember much: some Council Members weren't even born, many were children, and even those who were young adults (like yours truly) were too busy with getting their feet on the ground in real life to recall now those events with accuracy. So, our intrepid reporter and reitired Army Captain, David, enlightened us. By the way, if one clicks upon the title of this post, there is an official biography of Richard M. Nixon, from the official website of The Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace -- a site well worth a visit.

A most definitive event and quite avoidable if only Nixon has fessed up from day one. I remember the televised hearings very well. In those days, Democrats didn't practice the dirty tricks they do now, let alone commit illegal acts. Proof positive was Watergate Committee Chairman Senator Sam Ervin (D-NC). He was a fair man and injected humor into the proceedings to ease the tension. Most of us who watched probably remember John Dean's testimony with his drop-dead gorgeous wife, Maureen (Mo), sitting behind him. The testamonies of Haldeman, Erlichman, McCord, Hunt, et al were mezmorizing to watch, although Bob Haldeman and John Erlichman perjured themselves on the stand. Ironically, Erlichman means "honest man" in German. The sad part is that Nixon could have avoided all this mess and would not have been forced to resign in disgrace. He was not aware of the break-in during the planning stage and during the actual event. He was apprised afterwards, and thence the cover-up began that brought him down. Attorney General John Mitchell, knew and was a real snake. He could have told Nixon prior to the event and the whole thing may have been avoided, but he didn't. Mitchell resigned in disgrace, was tried and served jail time, and died a broken man. Most people your age don't rememberJohn Mitchell's wife, Martha Mitchell. She and former Texas Governor, Ann Richards, were the "big mouth" Tah-Ray-Zah's of their day. The day Nixon left the White House [August 9, 1974] was one of the saddest events I can remember. I know that every word he spoke in that room in the White House before leaving for Air Force One was spoken from his heart. You could tell he was a repentent man, broken hearted, and felt so badly that he had hurt his family so deeply, let alone the country. I am happy, however, that Nixon will be remembered not only for Watergate. In combination with Henry Kissinger, the man was a foreign policy genius and did much to improve relations around the world. For that, he should never be forgotten and we owe him a debt of gratitude for his efforts. What made Watergate's impact so much more terrible, Anne and Jill, was that the Vietnam War had just ended before all this mess and the country was SO divided then ... not as much as now as our very survival wasn't at stake then. Liberalism is Banal

The Liberals say we should leave Iraq. It's too bloody. We can't do any good. People are getting killed. Beheaded, in fact. We should tuck our tails between our legs and run home. But Liberals have been known to stay in the midst of bloodshed. Much has already been written about the icon of "liberalness," FDR, staying the course in World War II.

I was thinking recently about Mississippi, in the summer of 1964. There, too, evil men killed innocent people who were trying to effect changes for the better. The Liberals did not run then, either. Even with the killing of the civil rights workers by the KKK, the Liberals stayed the course ... and effected a change. Freeing a people.

Why is it now so hard for the Liberals to understand that we Conservatives also wish to see the people of Iraq freed from tyranny? Is freedom something for Americans only? Are civil liberties ours and ours alone? Saddam represented one sort of evil. The Islamofacist fundamentalists have much in common with the murderous KKK'ers of the summer of '64. Clandestine murder by cowardly thugs in hiding is always the same, be it beheadings in Iraq or hangings in Mississippi. It is about HATE. Pure, simple and mindless hate.

The concept of evil as mindless ... unthinking ... or better put, unreflective, was explored by Hannah Arendt. She explored its banality. Click upon the title of this post, and you have a philosophical discussion of her understandings. This excerpted paragraph is telling:

Arendt's first reaction to Eichmann, "the man in the glass booth," was nicht
einmal unheimlich not even sinister." (4) She argues that "The deeds were
monstrous, but the doer ... was quite ordinary, commonplace, and neither demonic
nor monstrous." (5) Arendt's perception that Eichmann seemed to be a common man,
evidenced in his transparent superficiality and mediocrity left her astonished
in measuring the unaccounted evil committed by him, that is, organizing the
deportation of millions of Jews to the concentration camps. Actually, what
Arendt had detected in Eichmann was not even stupidity, in her words, he
portrayed something entirely negative, it was thoughtlessness. Eichmann's
ordinariness implied in an incapacity for independent critical thought: "... the
only specific characteristic one could detect in his past as well as in his
behavior during the trial and the preceding police examination was something
entirely negative: it was not stupidity but a curious, quite authentic inability
to think."

Is there a common thread to my blog musings? Emphatically YES:

The evil of Eichmann ... banal action without reflection, the evil of the Klansmen in the summer of 1964 ... banal action without self-examination, and the evil of the radical Islamists ... banal adherence to codes of behavior without self-evaluation: They are the SAME evil. It is the evil which every human is capable of when he ... or she ... refuses to consider well his actions. When thought becomes routine. And -- yes, banal.

And where do the Liberals stand on combating this same evil ... the one they fought in Germany, the one they fought in Mississippi ?

No where. Partisan politics has blinded them ... making them -- yes, unthinking. What is that slogan of "Anyone but Bush" but a blind, thoughtless, mindless, partisan adhering to a party's dictum at the loss of one's self-reflective capacities?

Isn't that, in the end, also banal?

In the fight between good and evil, there are only two sides. One side includes self-examination and thought. The other, adherence to dogma. One side fights for freedom, human liberty, personal rights. The other acquiesces and accommodates and equivocates and hem's and haw's. And is banal.

Nominee Dean ??

Iraq is a front on the war on terror confronting us with many challenges as a people. It challenges our vision of ourselves and our future. It confronts us with the question of whether or not we are committed to victory in the war on terror.

John F Kerry claims he has a clearer vision for Iraq. He criticizes the president's optimism. He calls it, "The wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time." Of course, that hasn't always been his position. As a matter of fact, it was Howard Dean's position. This is his campaign's SIXTEENTH policy change on Iraq. Many of us have already concluded he doesn't know what he's talking about and he's making it up as he goes along. But he does seem to have some sort of stance now.

Let's look at a few of his points. The heart of John Kerry's plan is to "involve more allies" and "have them share the burden and bear the costs" of rebuilding Iraq. He says, he will build "a true coalition." And he adds, he "will have our troops out by the end ofhis first term." When pressed about how. He says, he "won't discuss hypotheticals." When asked which countries he would bring in, the usual suspects, "France & Germany," are mentioned. Oh really?!
There was a reason why France was opposed to the war in Iraq. The on going UN OIL FOR FOOD SCANDAL IS ILLUMINATING our understanding of its opposition. It was heavily invested in the Saddam regime. Its banks laundered money for Saddam. (As a matter of fact, at the beginning of 2002, when it was clear that hostilities between the US and Iraq would intensify, Teresa Heinz Kerry sold off shares in one of these banks where she made a sizeable return. There is a reason why she won't release her records, and we're sure Mr. Soros isn't so far behind.) France's arms industries provided weapons to Saddam's army to kill Americans. As a matter of fact, the US military recently reported that brand new FRENCH missiles and rockets were supplied to the Iraqis to kill American tanks and helicoptors and be used as improvised explosive devices, what's claimed most of our over 1000 casualties. The Germans supplied brand new nuclear-biological-chemical suits and brand new atropine injectors to enhance the survivability of Iraqi troops in possible NBC attacks against Coalition forces. It seems they had little doubt of the presence of wmd's then. France's government wisked away Baathists with fake passports after Saddam fell. No doubt, they have a story to tell about France. France has even acted to block NATO involvement and contributions in the rebuilding of a FREE Iraq and training of its army. In the spring of this year, while NATO met, France actively worked to limit and bully NATO members by blackmailing their EU status into not supporting the US in Iraq. France is not an American ally. France supported the genocidal regime of Saddam. Any US presidential candidate who would bow at their altar and surrender our security to their corruption in the hopes of their "participation" and rapproachment isn't securing America but giving France veto power our our national security. This isn't "sharing the burdens" and "bearing the costs." This won't do.
There are reasons why our "friends & allies" have "abandoned us." Why they "left our side after rallying to our aid after the attacks of 9/11." Why we are "going it alone." Let's examine this.
Prior to the spring elections in Spain, al Qaeda launched a devasting attack on commuter trains in Madrid. The populace was posed with a challenge, to join the fight in terror or quit the camp of the fight. It voted in an anti-war government, pulling out of the Coalition, aligning the country with France. They decided there was a limit to the "burdens they would share" and the "costs they would bear." Their answer was appeasement. Interestingly, this government supports John Kerry.
The terrorists in Iraq haved staged kidnappings and horrible executions of citizens of Coalition nations. Some, like the Phillipines, have pulled out under threat and duress. Others, like Italy and Britain, stand fast. Indeed, there is a reticence on the part of many to "share the burden" and "bear the costs." Fighting terror is a grave endeavour. The terrorists will not stop their bloody crimes against humanity, but they will be encouraged by appeasement, irresolution and half-hearted resolve in combatting them. That's what Mr. Kerry is offering.
Since the spring of 2002, noteable members of the American left have visited crucial allies and given speeches abroad denouncing US foreign policy and undermining the US War on Terror. Bill Clinton, Madeline Albright, Wesley Clark, et al. Indeed, John Kerry's sister recently disparaged Australian involvement in the Coalition, intimating that continued alliance with Bush's America would cost Australian lives. This is what they mean by "two Americas." Yet only one America is threatened by terror and one America's allies help protect us all. With such partisanship at the expense of national security, national unity, such a conflicting message in whether or not America is resolute in fighting this war, can it not be understood that the American left has worked to circumvent the "sharing of the burden" and the "bearing of the costs"?

One of the most influential arms of American diplomacy is our entertainment industry. Sadly, its response to aiding the war effort has been to either offer deafening silence or outright partisan assault on the War on Terror. Hollywood and the music industry have put their politics ahead of country and worked to shape foreign public opinion against the war. Whether it is the antics of the Dixie Chicks or Eminem dancing with UBL or Green Day using the symbol of a putrid American flag whose colours run away, the troops are forgotten and their sacrifice ridiculed. The enemy is ignored, even indemnified. And American unity in the face of the threat of imminent terror is undermined. Disgraceful. Not one film from Hollywood has supported the soldier in the field. Instead, we are assaulted with junk science films on global warming due to conservative policies which leads to a global ice age, big corporation control of "Manchurian Candidates," and pro-Saddam, anti-Bush leftist propaganda pieces which either tell us a volunteer military has been coercively sent to its doom in a quagmire, or that seven minutes of calm and the set-up of an anti-terror infrastructure at the outset of the 9/11 attacks is somehow "poor leadership." We are told we have been "mislead" when the very same people making the accusations told us the same "misleading" things only years, sometimes months, ago. This is how the American entertainment industry has responded to the War on Terror, by acting to divide the country and undermine the war effort, all to the supposed benefit of John Kerry. When the allies view such shows of "patriotism," what is it that should promote them to "share the burdens" and "bear the costs" of the War on Terror?
The recent debacle with CBS and its use of forged documents used to smear a sitting president in time of war exposes the overal leftward bias of the American media. Indeed, open coordination with the Democrat party is coming to light. The security of the nation is being sacrificed by media outlets at the altar of partisanship. Of course, foreign news organizations are aware of this, and share this "patriotism" with their audiences. How can this in any way prompt foreign nations to "share the burden" and "bear the costs" of this war?!

During the first gulf war, President George H. W. Bush assembled a coalition of 35 nations to fight Saddam. Mr. Kerry praises that and says this is the route he'd take in Iraq. He also voted against it at the time. President George W. Bush assembled a coalition of 39 nations to fight Saddam. Mr. Kerry says that is a "number too few without real significance." Yet he voted for this war. He voted for it twice. In 1998, he voted for the LIBERATION OF IRAQ ACT which empowered the president to take all actions necessary to oust Saddam. He didn't have any "qualifications" to his vote then. That LAW hasn't sunsetted. He voted for war in 2002. He seems to have "qualifications" to his vote now. Now, he says, "this was the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time." Incomprehensible.
The left has openly worked to cause a schism with our allies at the expense of our national security. Mr. Kerry has sought to exploit this for political gain. Indefensible. What do you get when you cross Bill Clinton with Howard Dean? You get the message, "I have a scream, but I'll keep getting back to you on what it is." Such an irresolute and disingenuous message can only confuse allies, encourage none, and steel the resolve of terror which exploits confusion in policy vision and the lack of the will to win. Mr. Kerry does not seek victory in Iraq. He doesn't even mention it. No, he seeks a foreign auction in a front on the War on Terror and an opportunity to pull out our troops, abandon ANOTHER fledgling democracy, and retreat from the assault of the enemey. This will not make America "safer at home and respected in the world," but the target of every terrorist and anyone else who wants to exploit weakness and appeasement. The French will not keep the enemy from murdering our mothers, sisters, wives, children. Only the US military can. A strong US military whose posture is not lowered by the dictates of waffling candidates and the national ambitions of France. Mr. Kerry is the wrong candidate, in the wrong place at the wrong time. Retreating behind our borders and challenging the enemy to defeat our national defenses places the front on our shores, in our cities & suburbs, at our power stations, schools and hospitals. It makes our infrastructure the target of the enemy and our families the victims he will murder.

Mr. Kerry and the left want to abandon the war abroad. They anticipate the well-wishing of foreign nations which have proven themselves to be unreliable to protect us and challenge terror. In doing so, they bring the war to our shores. His ultimate plans for the War on Terror represent a failure of vision and a recipe for disaster whose face has already been seen. One American Beslan in one too many. Such a wreckless shift in focus will amount to the needless deaths of innocent American civilians. No more 9/11's! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!!! It can't be clearer why John Kerry is the wrong candidate, in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Let's just look briefly at what Mr. Kerry has gone on record in saying what he would do to prosecute this war. Mr. Kerry admits Iran had a relationship with the hijackers on 9/11. He says this nation posed the "real threat" and should have been our "real target," not Iraq. He says a nuclear Iran represents the greatest threat of wmd's getting into the hands of terrorists. But what is his plan to avert this crisis, to deal with the aid and shelter terrorists are receiving from Iran? He wants to form a UN sponsored coaltion and monitor Iran's nuclear program, dissuade it from terrorist activity with speeches and threat of sanction and "cement good faith" by providing Iran with nuclear fuel!!! Why does one of the world's leading oil producers need nuclear power?! No. Kerry wants to give them the fuel to power reactors to make bombs and threaten the world with apocalypse in the name of Islamist revolution because he doesn't understand what they threat they represent. It is clear he is the wrong candidate, in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

We have a choice for Iraq and it's clear. Despite the setbacks and the difficulties, the Bush administration's plan calls for free elections for Iraq, an Iraqi army trained and supported by allies to insure its sovereignty. The Bush administration is committed to fighting terror on its own ground, not on our streets, securing the freedom and independence of oppressed peoples. Reflecting on the sage advice of one of our greatest leaders, we constantly are reminded of two competing paradigms: one of the eternal optimist and the other of the eternal pessimist. Indeed, the pessimist, when presented with all positive facts and circumstances, will always find fault and words of malcontent. Yet the eternal optimist, when presented with nothing but manure, will root through it, persevere, never recant his optism, for he is sure there is a pony to be found. There are a few "sound bytes" here to ponder. America will never be a nation ruled by fear and the jaded vision of those who eschew, are ashamed of, her greatness. An Answer to Beheadings of the Innocent

When the death camps were liberated near the end of WWII, aconcerted effort was made to capture the SS officers and men incharge of that carnage. When the captured were identified by theirliving victims, they were summarily executed. No trial, no ifs, noands, and no buts. Eisenhower, Patton, Montgomery etc, professionalmilitary officers all, saw this as fitting justice. The SS, thoughin uniform, did not practice nor adhere to any military code ofconduct, rules of the Geneva Convention, or innate laws of moraldecency. Thus, they were not accorded the respect, humanitariantreatment, nor custom as that accorded to legitimate combatants. Thesame is true of these cowardly hooded bastards who cut off the headsof innocent civilians. They're not legal combatants. They're thesame as their Fuhrer worshipping predecessors. They're all cut fromthe same cloth. Once captured, they are persona non grata. Instantexecution in public with their living victims as witnesses. Oh, Iforgot, these so-called Islamists are not afraid to die? Good! Then,they won't have any problem being hit with 12 rounds from a firingsquad armed with M-16's before the next group is lined up. Let themgo to Allah and their 72 virgins (all of whom should resemble Tah-Ray-Zah so they know they've entered Hell). Further, anybody whodances and cheers before the camera in front of a bombed outCoalition vehicle or celebrates the murder of Coalition soldiersautomatically declares that neighborhood a free fire zone andinvites utter destruction to him/her, to his/her family, to his/herdwelling etc. It's about time we abandon some of our "humanitarian"strategy and start eradicating this element on their own terms andwith their own tactics. He'd Rather Have Not !!

So if Dan'd had his druthers, he'd rather have not aired the "documents." Notice that they are still documents. Notice that it is the authenticity which is being investigated, not the forgery that is being uncovered. Ah! What would we do without the language of "cover up?"

But, let's remember ... Barnes' daughter said Barnes lied about giving Bush preference. The son and the widow of the late Killien disavowed the so-called documents, saying that he never would have written them, never participated in such a cover-up, and didn't even have a home office. Advisors of CBS have disavowed the way that their statements had been misconstrued. So what are we left with: BAD and BIASED reporting. And CBS got caught red-handed.

They can spin it all they want. The fact is that the Washington Post and ABC would never have gone in for the kill if there weren't such overwhelming evidence of forgery. Heck, even I could see that the documents were questionable. Any veteran typist of the Selematic series typewriters can tell you that there were serious issues to further examine in the memos. And that they could not be taken on face value. ~~ CBS tried to foist them off upon us with the certification of their corporate imprimatur.

The whole news media has learned that no one and no place's stamp is the necessary and sufficient approval to make any story acceptable anymore. A skeptical viewship has morphed into a cynical public. We don't believe it just because Daddy Dan says it's so. The days when CBS News with Walter Chronkite was the golden mean of journalistic truth are gone with the wind. And CBS itself shredded its last cloak of honor.

Now it will spin. And if you click on the title of this post, you'll read its spun cotton candy apology. But it will not honestly analyze its mistakes, it can't afford to. It can't say how it ignored the son and widow of Killien. The daughter of Barnes. How it refused to follow up on interviewing people to whom the son suggested they talk. How it refused to talk with Barnes' daughter. How it turned a general statement by one expert analyst into a blanket approval of the memos -- and he is vehemently denouncing that he meant any such thing! How it ignored the warnings of other document analysts. And how even now, right now, at this very moment, Dan Rather is NOT ANGRY. And we all know the man has a temper -- we've seen him in tantrums right on the air. But he's calm and serene while investigating the man who duped him and made him into a world class fool. Rather is as even-tempered as if he were interviewing the owner of the world's biggest pig going into the Guinness Book of World Records. Yeah, it's a record of some sort ... and it's one for the books. And now, the American public knows him for the fraud he's become.

I still think that in my home area, New York City, there will be more viewers watching reruns of the Simpsons and King of Queens than CBS News. ~~ Rather may act like it doesn't matter, but in fact this is the market the networks covet in ratings sweeps. And, sponsors also notice that more viewers prefer the syncicated stations than CBS. This will have repercussions far beyond the stony corporate face that they are trying to mug for the cameras.

The network news stations are down to two major, and one discredited boob of a minor. And it serves Rather and CBS right. Meantime, the Kerry campaign lost over a week ... as their message has been totally burried under the intense focus upon CBS. And it serves the DNC right, as they set up CBS with the memos to begin with.

So, will you tune into CBS to hear Rather blather on about his being used? (Oh, the poor dear!) Not me, I'd rather put the Simpons on and do some vacuuming. Not that I'll be listening to Bart and company. But at least if my TV is going to have a clown on the screen, let it be a REAL one, and not an amateur like Rather!

Here, from Drudge's front page, is the ridiculous denial of responsibility for this fiasco by Rather, which he issued today. Notice that the memos are still "documents" and not "forgeries." Notice that he was deceived ... not that he manipulated and ignored good advice about the documents. Notice ... aw ... what the heck ... you know the score ... have fun reading !!

Last week, amid increasing questions about the authenticity of documents used in support of a 60 MINUTES WEDNESDAY story about President Bush's time in the Texas Air National Guard, CBS News vowed to re-examine the documents in questionand their sourcevigorously. And we promised that we would let the American public know what this examination turned up, whatever the outcome.
Now, after extensive additional interviews, I no longer have the confidence in these documents that would allow us to continue vouching for them journalistic. I find we have been misled on the key question of how our source for the documents came into possession of these papers. That, combined with some of the questions that have been raised in public and in the press, leads me to a point whereif I knew then what I know nowI would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the documents in question.
But we did use the documents. We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism.
Please know that nothing is more important to us than people's trust in our ability and our commitment to report fairly and truthfully.

Today, in New York City, my home, the ceremonies remembering September 11th, 2001, dominate our press, our radio, our television ... and our lives. Close to 3,000 people from the metropolitan area perished. More who lived not so far from us, in Washington D.C., lost their lives. And in a field in Pennsylvania, there died citizens from all points of the U.S.: now their resting place is nearby. So, yes, we feel today. For us it's "only three years ago." Still, we are vividly aware that citizens from ALL across the U.S.A. live here ... and some of those citizens died here. We know we honor this day with all of America.

We do not live in the moment of 9/11. We are rebuilding. We fought back and day by day faced the tragedy with courage and persistance. We have many victories of the spirit to celebrate. We have solid accomplishments to be proud of. We have emerged victorious. We are aware of the terrorist threat. It is part of our daily lives. But we are defiant. They did their best, and we emerged stronger than ever.

Still, one day is needed to remember. That is today. All the other days of the year we strive and succeed in tribute to this one day. Yes, we'd been involved in skirmishes and battles with the terrorists before that day. The April 1993 attack on the Twin Towers when six died. The USS Cole bombing. The US embassy bombings. And numerous attacks by Islamic fundamentalists throughout the globe. But this day began our War on Terror.
.....This day our lives forever changed..... .....Without a doubt it is important to remember what happened just three years ago..... .....We have losses to mourn~~nearly 3,000 souls were taken from us; we have survivors to comfort~~each of those lost had loved ones who now grieve: May God comfort them..... .....We have heroes to honor! The firemen and police officers who rushed into the burning buildings to save lives; who gave their all in service.....
.....The brave passengers of Flight 93 who fought to the death to thwart the terrorists plans..........The soldiers who made their sacrifice in the heart of our military's headquarters..... .....and the unnamed citizens who came to the assistance of others, sometimes all surviving ~~ sometimes none. They, too, are this day's heroes..........On that day, Lady Liberty wept for all her children..... .....Thankfully we had a President, George W. About "W" in the National Guard

These are the astute comments by Council Member Jill about the brouhaha regarding Bush's service. As she and many other Council Members have pointed out: Bush has been Commander-in-Chief for four years, three of them during wartime. Let's stop worrying about his youth and judge him on his current record. He has one! ~~ Like we're worried that he missed a physical thirty-one years ago! If that's the Democrats' best shot ... sheesh!

Well GW Bush I don't think ever planned on being president. I understand
from one source, during his hard drinking days, he once exploded into the Bush
household and challenged his own father to a fist fight.

Sometimes, that's what you need. The Maverick who has grown
up, realized he did wrong in his younger days and LEARNED FROM IT. Does
anyone doubt that Bush now is a responsible leader?

I know it
sounds crazy, to draw this analogy but there was this episode of Star Trek the
Next Generation where Picard is regretting his younger, brash days of being a
brawler and a drinker. Then "Q" takes him back to those days so he can
change what he regrets. But then he finds out his future is as a minor
ensign who never rises to any significant rank. He learns that, that brash
young man, coupled with the growing maturity of learning from his mistakes, made
him the leader he is now.

I don't think GW was a perfect
young man in his youth. I don't want a perfect young man. I want
someone who's willing to take the risks, who knows how to learn from a mistake
and is willing to stick to his guns.

John Kerry has NEVER admitted
to any past wrong.

I would rather have a flawed person who
can admit he was flawed and learn from it, than a flawed person who has NEVER
admitted to any wrong in his life.

With James Carville et. al. onboard the Kerry rumble bus, watch the Libs
slip from anger into pure dementia. I predict even Laura and Lynn will become a
targets for these slime meisters. They want to trash W's NG record on a campaign
basis because they don't have a Swiftboat vet contingency of their own. This is
really desperation unhinged. Bush/Cheney never attacked Kerry, so, true to form
and without any backing, all stops have been pulled to attack Bush/Cheney from
the Kerry Kamp with their Commie Media buddies in collusion. The Dems keep
digging a deeper and deeper hole because they have both the audacity and
stupidity to believe the American people will fall for this blantantly obvious
crap. Kerry proves himself more and more vulnerable each day because he lacks
any defense of his past actions. Point in cae, Bush never testified before
Congress, Bush never made Vietnam a campaign issue, Bush never threw medals
iover a fence, Bush never joned a vets group that was anti-war etc etc etc ad
nauseum. Stick with it Vulcanites and forge ahead despite all the gloom, doom,
and lies from the Media. Kerry and Edwards are dead men walking....much to
Hilly/Billy delight.

Folks want substance. Meat. And ugly attacks will be seen for what they are, creating a backlash against the dirty tricks of Kerry and his gang. If they really do this, they have turned their king over and admitted "checkmate." All they have left is name-calling. Some campaign strategy! Sheesh!

In response to President Bush's Agenda for America's Future and a critique of
his policies and Senate record, Senator Kerry's campaign is implementing a
strategy of vicious personal attacks against the President and Vice President.
The campaign is bringing in a bevy of former Clinton henchmen, including CNN
commentators James Carville and Paul Begala. In August alone, Begala
called President Bush a "gutless wonder," said he has a "lack of intelligence,"
and called Vice President Cheney a "dirt bag." Carville said the President
is "ignorant big time" and said "George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are a couple of
nobodies."

It's not like Bob Shrum needed encouragement to engage in personal
attacks. At a Kerry rally Friday morning in Ohio, campaign surrogate John Glenn
compared the Republican Convention to a Nazi rally, and Kerry called the
President unfit to lead our nation and once again sought to divide the country
by who served and how 35 years ago.

Of course, the President was called a "cheap thug," a "killer" and a "liar" at a Kerry-Edwards campaign event in New York, Mrs. Kerry has called the President's policies "unpatriotic" and "immoral" and DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe falsely accused the President of being AWOL.

Democratic strategist Susan Estrich outlined the strategy last Wednesday in a column warning Republicans to "watch out." "I'm not promising pretty," she wrote before going on to call President Bush and Vice President Cheney alcoholics, then ask "is any alcoholic ever really cured?" ("I can see the ad now.")
She deems the President's service as a National Guard fighter pilot "draft dodging," and says, "a forthcoming book by Kitty Kelly raises questions about whether the President has practiced what he preaches on the issue of abortion." (Interestingly, the New York Daily News reported back in February that the Kerry campaign intended to spread such a rumor in pro-life chat rooms late in the campaign.)

So the former Dukakis campaign manager has an advance copy of Democrat donor Kitty Kelly's book, which promises to throw unsubstantiated gossip at President Bush in the same way she falsely maligned the late President Reagan as a date rapist who paid for a girlfriend's abortion and wrongly castigated Nancy Reagan as an adulterer who had an affair with Frank Sinatra. A recent story says Kelly's book alleges President Bush used cocaine at Camp David while his father was President, which is as credible as her story that then Governor and Nancy Reagan smoked marijuana with Jack Benny and George and Gracie Burns.
And tonight on CBS, longtime Democratic operative Ben Barnes-a friend of, major contributor to and Nantucket neighbor of Senator Kerry's and vice chair of the Kerry Campaign--will repudiate his statement under oath that he had no contact with the Bush family concerning the President's National Guard service. (Anyone surprised that Barnes would contradict a statement he made under oath probably doesn't know his long history of political scandal and financial misdealings.)
So brace yourselves.

Any mention of John Kerry's votes for higher taxes and against vital weapons programs will be met with the worst kind of personal attacks. Such desperation is unbecoming of American Presidential politics, and Senator Kerry will pay a price for it at the polls as we stay focused on policies to continue growing our economy and winning the War on Terror.

Ollie Shoots Down Kerry

Ollie North is one of my personal heroes. He personifies integrity, wit and grace under fire. If I were to choose one man for the title of PATRIOT, it would be he. Oftimes I think he was swapped in the cradle with a child destined to fight the American Revolution. He evokes the moral stamina of eras gone by. Listening to him is hearing what made America great. And since I believe all of that, it should come as no surprise that I'm copying an editorial from today's New York Post describing Ollie's taking aim at Kerry:

OLLIE'S VOLLEY

September 9, 2004 -- WASHINGTON — Former Marine Oliver
North — noting that he turned down Purple Hearts so he could stay in Vietnam
with his troops — is firing new shots at old foe John Kerry, calling on the
Massachusetts Democrat to apologize for his anti-war protests.
In his
syndicated column, North, a war hero and Fox New Channel commentator, recently
issued a "Dear John" letter that chides Kerry for testifying that U.S. troops
committed atrocities in Vietnam, and points out that even "Hanoi" Jane Fonda
later apologized for some of her conduct during the war.
"Even Jane Fonda
apologized. Will you, John?" North wrote in his column last month.
"The
issue is what you did to us when you came home, John," North wrote. "John, did
you think they would forget?"
In addition to facing criticism for his
anti-war protests, Kerry also has been under fire from some vets who say he
didn't deserve his medals and collected three Purple Hearts as quickly as he
could so he could return to the United States.
"I only have two Purple
Hearts, though," North wrote.
"I turned down the others so that I could stay
with the Marines in my rifle platoon. But I think you might agree with me,
though I've never heard you say it, that the officers always got more medals
than they earned and the youngsters we led never got as many medals as they
deserved."

When asked yesterday if Kerry had contacted him, North, the
host of "War Stories" on the Fox News Channel, laughed loudly, shaking his head
from side to side. He said the feedback to his writing has been "astounding."
North and Kerry have a history.
It was Kerry, as a senator investigating
the Iran-Contra scandal, who helped put North's military career in mothballs in
the 1980s — pinning much of the blame for the gun-running plot on the decorated
Marine.
Kerry's war-hero record has been shot up by the anti-Kerry Swift
Boat Veterans for Truth, who published the best-selling book, "Unfit for
Command," which claims Kerry lied to collect his Bronze Star and three Purple
Hearts.
"You don't have a beef with President George Bush about your war
record," North writes.
"Your complaint is with the 2.5 million of us who
served honorably in a war that ended 29 years ago and which you, not the
president, made the centerpiece of this campaign."
North says it was
devastating to American POWs, who had Kerry's testimony thrown in their face by
taunting North Vietnamese.

The AP Is Biased As Well ...

Matt B. has his own blog, which you can access by clicking on the title of this post. It's a vibrant site with biting commentary. And GREAT graphics. The post below, however, is what Matt wrote at the Vulcan Council:

Ya know the Associated Press is biased as well. They gave
ONE story about Bush's double-digit lead after the convention. But I noticed
more negative Headlines than anything like 'Kerry Slams Bush' which is a really
old headline they keep recycling as if Kerry slamming Bush has any real effect
on poll numbers, and 'CBO says there is a $442 billion budget deficit', and
Death Toll Tops 1,000 in Iraq'. The Associated Press also intentionally lied.
They had released an article claiming that when Bush was at a Campaign rally
'Audience Boos as Bush says Our Prayers are with President Clinton' and they go
on to say Bush did nothing to stop them. They released to several websites
before 'correcting' their mistake. Their idea was to just delete the sentence
and recycle the rest of the article. They never mentioned to anyone they had
made a mistake in the first draft of the article so you get my drift. Sounds
like they have an agenda to defeat George W. Bush.Another thing is the latest
headline is about the Associated Press suing for Bush's National Guard Records!
They tried so hard fto get this and apparently they keep reporting that there is
some 'gap' in his record and they imply that Bush was AWOL and yet the National
Guard never said he was and never did any investigation of it as Bush 'failed to
show up for a medical exam'.Is it me or does it look like the Associated Press
is intenionally doing the work for the New York Times and Democrat National
Committee? Quite honestly we have some biggoted people in journalism. The
Liberals have hijacked it. The more Republicans retain and clamp down on and
gain more power, expanding majorities in the House and Senate and Re-electing
Republicans, the liberals just get loonier and loonier.Dan Rather used to be
fair, but now he lets his true colors show. He sounds like the Jimmy Carter of
CBS. All this talk about a non-existant 'malaise'.Chris Matthews used to be
fair. But in fear he kept asking Zell Miller questions before he could finish
his answers to the previous questions.Zell explained ' WHY DON"T YOU LET ME
FINISH ANSWERING THE QUESTION BEFORE YOU ASK ANOTHER ONE!?" I'm not that girl,
you can't treat me like that and get away with it (referring to how Matthews
bullied Michelle Malkin and cut her mic). Miller then proceeded to say I wish it
were like back in the day when I could challenge you to a duel.Matthews was all
over the place. I think he was seriously intimidated by Zell Miller. He's just
gone bonkers. Up until recently I thought Fox News Political Analyst Susan
Estrich was a fair liberal. But now I hear she made a column claiming both Bush
and Cheney are currently alcoholics and Dubya snorted coke back during his
father's term as President. It just keeps getting more and more ridiculous like
that worn out slogan ' Bush lies , people die!' or 'Bush went to war for oil'.
It seems like everyone is becoming a Michael Moore.I think the negativity from
the opposition really is going to backfire on them because the so-called
'moderates' and 'independents' and 'undecided' voters don't like to see that
kind of trash.It will turn them off to the point of disgust that they just vote
for Bush.This is how I see it. Even Bill O'Reilly constantly slams the elite
media for how slanted it is. He notes that they keep attacking Fox News in
columns and attacking Bill personally and TV Writers never mention the huge
success and ratings Fox News has. Bill said Fox News topped ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN ,
and MSNBC for ratings in coverage of the Democrat National Convention and then
again topped ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC for ratings of coverage of the
Republican National Convention.If these journalist don't wake up and smell the
coffee and the Democrat Party doesn't do the same they are gonna dig themselves
deeper and deeper into the grave. I know I can say I've had it with the media.
Enough is enough. Time to turn the son of a bitches off and throw their prints
in the garbage where such material belongs!
